This is AMAZING!
Thank you =)
Whoa...........
You have just taken effects to a whole new level. I've never heard an interpretation of wind on here before, but I really like yours. I especially love the effects you have with the bass drum, and the glockenspiel REALLY makes it creepy when it comes in. You have also done really well with time signatures, I could never really grasp a way to make the piece flow with a whole bunch of time signature changes. So regarding those nine measures with the cello and bass soli, I like them, and think they should stay. It just might be that after listening to it several times on your part, they might have gotten old.
So, I'm guessing that you are going to keep building intensity till the storm gets really fast and furious? I really like your melody, are you going to keep using that throughout, or establish a new melody for the next section? I think either one would work, maybe just bring the beginning melody back at some point later in the peice. You could put it kind of behind everything else (assuming a coming fast section) as well as making something new..... I think that would be really cool, putting the slow melody with a bunch of fast stuff, kinda like what I did in ghost. AMAZING start, sorry it took so long for me to listen and comment. :P
(You know... I think I need to start finding words aside from AWESOME and AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL and such. I kinda think I'm overusing them. Fabalicious?)
Thank you! I'm glad that you like the rain maker and bass drum. When it comes to bass drum though...it really makes me wish that musescore had an acoustic bass drum and not just the drumset bass drum =( The sound is nowhere close.
Actually, I'm planning to have a short glockenspiel melody, and then explode into the storm (now that I think about it, that is what you did with ghost...aww...I feel unoriginal now....:P). Although the storm part is the hard one because of the ideas I get come from an existing piece about Kyrill, and it's driving me crazy. I'm probably going to need a new melody, the one I'm using is getting old.
Hmm...complement words.....how about fantabulous??
Hmm...who else thinks that I should get rid of these nine measures? Part of me says yes and the other says no...
Thank you to all!
Wonderful, man!
Very nice, I love it!
I see where you got the idea for the air blowing from... (at least I think I know). Wow! This is awesome! Very programmatic.
Just out of curiosity, where do you think I got it from? I know where I got it from, but what is your guess?
Just saw this comment, but my guess is Steven Reineke (Pilatus: Mountain of Dragons)? He's infamous for stealing ideas though, so he might have taken that from some other source...
i'm sure it will be great when you finish. love rain maker and bass drum :)
Thank you. I tried to be creative and use the rain maker to represent wind instead of rain, and the bass drum represents thunder. I wish MuseScore had the sound for an acoustic bass drum though (or whatever it is...it's the huge one that one would find in a band room, NOT the drumset bass drum) because the drumset bass drum doesn't have the effect I'm looking for.
