About this score

A new piece i'm putting together based on all branches of the military and the sacrifices they have made for us.
And i apologize ahead of time for the low brass and low reeds having a really boring part.
Please Comment !!!!

Later in the song, there are tapping sounds that aren't supposed to be there. :(

Really ? I thought it could hit those notes the Western Concert Flute, which I was thinking of when I wrote this piece, does has a three register range and higher; It can go from a C4 to C8. I'll have to brush up on my research to check this out. Thank you.

evilpie3: You may not read my comment because it will probably be at the bottom but anyways here it is: You said on your bio that you would want it and I quote "behind a silver screen". Well your wish is coming true because (with your permisson of course) I will feature it in my upcoming 74th Hunger Games fan movie (for info will be on my YouTube channel GoldenHearted24). I am extremely impressed with your Military Soundtrack.

P.S| Thanks for listening to my music, it meant a lot.

I appreciate your dedication to our military, and the time you spent in creating this very dynamic piece. It gave me chills. As a past member of bands and orchestras, and flute / piccolo player, I found myself "fingering" the notes of those parts without even having instrument in hand. I like the chord modulations in the last few measures. A couple of suggestions I give is to: (a) at some point, somewhere in the "middle" of the tune, have the lower voices drop out and then join back in, which would make it not so "heavy" throughout, and allow the higher voices to be prevalent. It would create more anticipation in the listener. Also, consider a "B" part that will make it more interesting. (Perhaps where you drop the lower voices.) All-in-all, a great song with great potential. Thanks again for writing it.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad, even after all this time, this piece still intrigues listeners. I can see, that if I had written this piece now, I would have constructed it a little different. More dynamic contrast in the upper voices and the piece in general. But hey, This was one of my first orchestral pieces ever. Thank you for the positive comment again!

Definitely an exciting piece, and the sound--even with a MuseScore performance--is impressive. Are you pursuing a live performance?

evilpie3's picture

I could only hope, What an experience if it was to be preformed live !

I have two suggestions for you. First, due to the extreme awesomeness of this piece, it would be great if you used a different type of sound font. It would be even better to rewrite it into Finale or Sib. software. Second, it would be a nice addition to label what percussion instruments are to play at designated times. That way, if the piece was ever performed, there would be no confusion in the percussion. :)

evilpie3's picture

I totally agree, and thank you for your positive feedback. I wish I had the money for Finale or Sibelius. And for the labeling thing, I would but I uploaded this with 1.1 Musescore and uploading this again will cause the dynamics to get screwed up. But thank you for the positive feedback, I appreciate it.

The ending was...abrupt. Maybe, if it were me, have the contra bass continue the last part into the next measure.

evilpie3's picture

1000!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you every for your comments and for the likes !

If you added even just some simple, standard, rudimentary ideas into the snare part and the rest of the percussion in general, it could be much more interesting, and in my opinion, more militaristic as well. Other than that, I love the motive you had and how you carried it out. It's really nice work. :3

Wow a flutist has to have really quick fingers to play this one! But I love it. And that's great that you dedicated it to the military. Keep it up!

mindbomber's picture

yea at that speed your fingers would cramp up for sure but still awesome piece
