Such a great symphony! Why not go for composing for video games or movies? I would certainly buy/see them, if only for the music (and then, of course, buy the albums).
I listen to this, and such a feeling of grand adventure comes over me that I can't but sing/whistle along.
This is absolutely amazing. You must have put lots of time and effort into this symphony. I listened to the entire symphony, and it was an amazing experience. I wish I was nearly as good as you. I believe this symphony should be published!
Awesome! Congratulate yourself again on impressing a young composer!
I hear the whole symphony and to me it sounds elegant and at times dizzying (in a good way = D)
Very good job!
Niiiiiceeeeee 8)
Are you going to go pro soon? Because I would love to hear more of your compositions.
Soon, my friend- no point until I have completed at least the first movement to my next symphony. :)
Sounds like a plan.
ASTOUNDING!
this is amazing, dude!
it really is "magnum"! Wow, really amazing!
James can ou please take a look at the ocean beauty?Feel free to comment.I'm looking forward to your piano concerto!
You're such a great composer. I love your work.
I hope to one day be able to write pieces as great as this (and the previous movements.)
Simply beautiful. I sure wish I could do something like this. Absolutely wonderful:)
James can you take a look at my symphony. It's finished.
and i like your work
I am a beginner in composition.my name is mikk.i am searching for more suggestions and advise for improving me.so if you could listen to my work.... thank you!!
Amazing ending to your symphony James! If this were played by say, The Columbus Symphony Orchestra, I would definitely pay to go see this being played it is so amazing.
James can you take a look at my canon?
bravo very astounding i liked it a lot
Great Piece :)
The piece is overall perfect. The only thing I want to add, of course for your next compositions, is the processing of the main musical idea. With one word<>. You surely did that on this piece with the beautiful orchestration accompanying but the idea is stiil not so musch developed. I know that I critisize ,without wanting to do, somewhat hard. It is for the development of the composition generally for every composer. I am also working to it.It comes surely with the experience. But generally all I have to say is <> because everyone with continuing development can make very very good compositions
Thank you, I think I developed the musical idea the best in the first movement, sometimes I just don't wish to develop the idea too much for fear of the piece becoming too repetitive, and there is also my stylistic preference to consider. :) I am who I am.
Thanks so much for you comment and critiques- I know I still have much to learn and I value the criticism.
Keep up the good work!
Excellent movement James. You really put a lot of effort to this one too. Again nice changing of melodies between instruments. That is always a big set for a composition "based upon my director's opinion". And I can see slight phrases from the other movements as well! Returning a few melodic lines from the other movements definitely makes this one more flowing and memorable to the others. It totally sets and combines all movements into one big finale. I don't know if others can sense that and understand my opinion, but yes this is such a beautiful composition of all the movements combined. Bravo James!
Not a bad ending to your series! I enjoyed the recapitulation of the man theme from this piece towards the end. One thing I might suggest, is that you add at least two more measures on at the end, and round the ending off with a grand finale of major and augmented chords, slowed down to dramatize the piece and show the listeners that you're ending on a high high note (think big, loud chords moving into more big, loud chords and ending on one huge, loud chord. Cue radical audience applause). At current, your final measure ends the piece rather abruptly, which I'm sure isn't the setting you were hoping for.
Other than that, it's a fantastic piece! Your overall work on the series has been excellent. I'm excited to see what future pieces you have in store.
P.S. Thanks for the credit! :)
Yes-I was thinking of adding to the ending myself but was struggling with exactly how. Could you send me an example? also check you email.
Other thoughts- I was thinking of adding an intro to the second movement-rather than beginning it so abruptly.
Epic, beautiful, amazing, and wonderfully lyrical and just awesome :) Thanks for posting!!!!
For anyone who listens and is thinking "oh no not another slow movement" the piece picks up momentum 5 minutes in. So please give the whole piece a chance. Or if you can't stand slow-skip to the 5 minute mark. I would also recommend listening to the movements in order as this will help "guide" you through the symphony.
Very good JamesMeno! The theme of the song is also very good! You can upload this on youtube, but i recommend a transer from midi to mp3.The instruments sound better believe me.I have uploaded also some new composition if you would like to see.Feel free to comment and also keep up your excellent work!Something I forgot to mention.Your music makes want to continue listening to it.This means that your composition are really good!
A Marvelous finale. Truly great. I feel inspired to compose a work for orchestra, but, at the same time, I feel mildly discouraged since I know I'd never be able to produce such a great piece. Keep up the good work.
Special thanks to Venona for his excellent idea (which I used note for note) in the viola divisi during the first two phrases and the last recapitulation of the main motif. Please feel free to comment and critique!
