General Interests
My name is Bryce Rosenwald and I'm thirteen years old. I play the flute, piccolo, alto sax, bari sax, and piano. I play flute in my school band and bari sax in the jazz bands. I take lessons for piano and saxophone. Outside of music, I play soccer and tennis. I'm also very good at tripping over flat surfaces and procrastination, and I enjoy Italian food.
Favorite Music
There's a lot of music that I like, but there's also some music that I really can't stand. I don't particularly enjoy baroque or classical pieces, and I really don't like pop and stuff like that. Some of my favorite music comes from a modernistic branch of romantic music, I'm not really sure what to call it (Holst comes to mind, also Rimsky-Korsakov). I also like jazz, Sousa marches, contemporary music, and again I don't know what to call it, but its the kind of piece that a band might play at a contest or concert - Steven Reineke is a good example. In terms of particular pieces, some of my favorites are "The Planets" and "Ode to Death' by Holst, "Procession of the Nobles" by Rimsky-Korsakov, "One O'Clock Jump" by Count Basie, "Moanin" and "Better Git It In Your Soul" by Charles Mingus, "Stars and Stripes Forever," "The Washington Post," and "El Capitan" by Sousa, "Waterfall" and "All of Me" by Jon Schmidt, "Into the Raging River" and "Sedona" by Steven Reineke, and "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas" by Eric Whitacre, among others.
