About this score

This piece reflects my unabashed love for all things ancient Rome. SPQR was the motto of the Roman Empire, "Senatus Populus Que Romanus" meaning literally, from Latin "Of the Senate, of the people of Rome." Also from Latin, "Romanus Aeternum" means "Rome is forever."

*Romulus Augustus was the last Emperor of the Classical Roman Empire, and Diacletian was his successor, ruling over the weakened state until it finally crumbled between AD475-AD500

**The Palaiologos were the most prolific ruling family of Byzantine Rome, and they produced its last emperor, Constantine IX (which also makes him the last ruler of the Roman Empire, period.)

++The missing instrument, designated as 'drumset' is a military drum.
