AWESOME!!!! I love this type of song!
Sounds a little like Clocks at some points.
I love this! It so pretty, the title fits perfect.
Awesome! I would have thought this was written by some great composer in the 18th century (or sometime like that), but it was written by a lesser known, equally talented musician in the 21st century. Well done!
Sorry, but I can't stand popular music style harmony.... arghhh..... but there is an effective balance of leaps and steps in the melody. If I were you I'd probably atleast modulate once, but hey, that's me, the textbook musician. The hemiola at the end was nice.
Nicely done. I don't just like waffles, I love them. pancakes, french toast, eh.
Very pretty :)
Every time I feel, I've created a rhythm as good as yours, you come out with another piece, with twice of good rhythm. Argh!!!
WHOAWHOAWHAO.....*reads small text* "Genre: Disco". TRY AGAIN MAE....this is POP not DISCO....HUGE DIFFERENCE =)
sorry if I sound a little rude there...
Lol I was totally kidding on this disco thing I was wondering if anyone would notice lol xP
You just gave me the greatest idea ever.
Whats this idea?
It involves disco. That's all I'm gonna say.
You're going to love this!

Arranged by me, mostly Musescore and some Audacity.
Starts looping at about 1:29 for like 3 minutes xD
LOL!! That is AMAZING! How did you do that? lol that is so epic, I can't even find words. You did that with just musescore and audacity? What did Audacity help with? O.o but lol I'm still in awe. That... that was brilliant :'D
Here shanks! Audacity helped with some added reverb, bass boost, and format conversion to mp3. You know what someone should do? Make a CD of high-quality versions of their songs and sell them! :O
OMG GENIUS!
You know, listening to the first half of the disco version outside on a patio or something feels really good. I put it on my phone and listened <3<3
I really want to buy everyone on this website's songs, and just pretend I'm in action movies as I listen to them on my ipod... *daydreams* That would be epic.
Yep! I hear the magical I, V, vi, IV chord structure again! God...while I was away at music camp, we watched a hilarious, 10-minute youtube video in which a couple guys put together all of these pop songs that had that chord structure....augh....I wish I was paying attention...cuz I can't find it....and my crazy memory doesn't work if I don't pay attention...
Ya know mae...I think I agree with IHasCheese right now and I would suggest that you start exploring other types of music. Get outside of your comfort zone so-to-speak. OR MAYBE YOU COULD WRITE A REAL POP SONG WITH LYRICS!! That would be interesting =)
Yup...I see Mae's musical signature now. excellent job as usual =)
Is this the video you're on about
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co9mW_9hH2g
Nope it wasn't. But it still works. AND ON THE PAGE I SAW THE VIDEO I WAS TALKING ABOUT I was talking about this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2De2cK1mDw
Ya know...now that I look at it...both videos are pretty much the same anyway...
OH I saw that video! And this is seriously I V VI IV? I remember when I came up with this i was like 'What a unique chord progression! 8D' And about the composing other types of songs... I can't seem to MAKE myself compose.. I have to have one of those lucky moments where I sit down at my piano and write something decent. Any tips?
Wow...It's been a while...I should have checked sooner. Anyway...tips? Well...when I was writing odyssey, I learned to write down my feelings. If you want the song to sound upset, it certainly helps when you feel upset. and then check. Does this song make me feel upset?
One thing I would recommend for you mae, is to try writing a MELODY FIRST. FORGET the chords and write a [4, maybe 8 measure] melody. Melodies are mainly composed of two phrases, a question phrase, and an answer phrase. THEN once you have your melody try to harmonize it with some chords, see which ones fit and where.
Make your self a playlist of dissonant music. It always works for me!...
YEEEEESS!! Do jazz or ragtime!!! And whatever you do, DON'T DO ATONAL MUSIC. That music is the bane of my existence. -_-
Dissonant music? RITE OF SPRING!!!! No, I'm kidding. I can't stand that. :P
Atonal music is awesome! Just listen to Ligeti.
RITE OF SPRING IS AWESOME :(
Mae, you just made me SOOOO unbelievably hungry. French Toast........ =d
As for the piece, what can I say? Sounds amazing as usual!!! I can definitely notice the pop song similarities that TNK pointed out, it gives a really nice mood to it. The title also helps add to that sad, yet peaceful feeling that YOU ARE SO GOOD AT portraying. Another great job! =D
Wonderful. I always look forward to hearing your compositions
