This is the main theme of the central character in the Dark Forces saga, Kyle Katarn. Known as a mercenary-for-hire, Kyle is hired by the Rebel Alliance to track down the plans to the Death Star, starting a series of missions that winds up pitting him against the best troops the Empire can throw at him.
