Wow!Amazing!
Really liking this movement so far... I'm a huge fan of Rachmaninoff too and found this piece because of him :) Good work with the general theme, but I feel as if some of the transitions are a bit abrupt, such as at 8:40... Otherwise, this is great work! I am also trying to write my own piano concerto, but am having trouble with my transitions as well. I have various themes developed so far, but have no clue how to link it all together. Any tips?
Thank you very much :) I'm glad that someone shares my taste in Rachmaninoff. Transitions for me are the worst, I understand. It's like that for me even when I'm performing someone else's music. I don't really have tips on transitions, but I guess, when your transitioning, change something in the music. Whether it is dynamics, phrasing, or something different change it slightly to give the audience a heads up that there's a transition. I'm not sure if that's good advice or not since I'm an amateur and have only been playing piano since I was 11 (I'm 13 now but almost 14), but I hope this helps.
Well, I'm also trying to write a piano concerto and conduct it at my school but am having trouble so far. Got some themes down, but other than that, there's not much progress. I'm surprised you're already composing at the age of 13... Your knowledge of music makes it seem like you have been involved in music since you were born. I'm not much older though (16 going to 17), but your compositions astound me. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to hearing more of your work.
Cool you're writing a piano concerto as well! Sorry for the late reply. I've been globetrotting and haven't really gotten the chance to go on musescore. I'd like to hear some of it though. I love listening to compositions from people around my age. If you could post how it is so far that would be cool :) By the way thank you for the compliment! I hope to hear your piano concerto very soon as well :)
No.#4
Beginning resembles Rachmaninoff. Excellent compostion! However the piano is almost inaudible. Maybe the melody could be played in large chords. That will drastically increase the volume. Also, I think the volume of each instrument is open to editing in the software.
It does resemble Rachmaninoff. He's my favorite composer, so I decided to make the beginning like his awesome 2nd piano concerto. I understand that the piano is inaudible, I just don't really know how to edit the volume of each instrument.
Your favorite? Then you have listened to his symphonies as well? No.2 of the symphonies is beautiful too.
I have listened to his first symphony in concert at the North Carolina Symphony and I've also listened to his second one, but not in concert. I agree though, they are beautiful.
Use the mixer. Press 'M' on a mac or F10 on a PC to open it, then adjust the dials. Otherwise just use dynamics.
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it :) Criticism would be appreciated too
Great work!
This is the best music I've heard in a while, you are truly talented.
thanks :)
I love it. Your orchestration is nice, and your choices of instrument make it unique. Great job!
