As an admirer of Erik Satie's Gnossiennes and Gymnopédies, I decided to make my own variations on his Gnossienne no. 1. In each part the original melody stays the same but alternate harmonies have been added.

Éric Alfred Leslie Satie (1866-1925), who later signed his name as Erik Satie, was a French composer and pianist. He referred to himself as a "phonometrician" meaning "someone who measures sounds". The Gnossiennes are piano compositions written by him around 1890 and first published in 1893. Mostly the works have no time signatures or bar divisions and are highly experimental. The form as well as the term were invented by Satie.
