are there any tips out there for marching with a sax (My sax is an alto)
Please leave any and all comments for "My First Composition" Here
You can listen to it or play through it, I made it for alto but Bari will also work
I'll try to respond as soon as possible
When I play my sax (alto), I always seem to have have back pain. This happens whenever I sit straight up. Does anyone have any suggestions to help my back pain.
Does anyone have a good bari sax solo thats not too hard but still hard enough to be fu n and sound cool? I want to learn it pretty fast and memerize it.
I know this is weird, but if anyone knows of a flute and alto sax duet, that would be great.
I was wondering if anybody knew any solo alto sax pieces that are for beginners?
I wanna make a Lo Fi Hip Hop remix of Hopes And Dreams (Undertale soundtrack) and wanna a sax sample of a part of the melody.
I'm about to get an alto saxophone within the next weeks. I will be joining band (Concert and Marching), and I was wondering if there was anything I need to know before I start. I can read defgabcdefg, and am starting to study scales and fingerings.

Hello! I've been playing Tenor Saxophone for 5 years now and I am curious about a good investment. I currently have an Allora Intermediate Series Tenor and I would like to have a more permanent investment saxophone.
Another topic I would like to know more about is a good Soprano Saxophone investment since if you don't buy a good one, repairs can get quite expensive!
Hello Saxophone community! The topic of discussion is the hardest piece you have ever played. This can include any piece you have attempted to play or have played in the past as long as it was on a saxophone. Make sure to include the name of the piece along with who composed it. You can also include a piece you are currently learning!
So today, I just got my brand new bari :,). It was totally amazing but I found that the tone quality on the upper octave G to B sounded like they totally had an air leak. The sound just dipped in sound, and an audible leaky sound was coming though. I know there isn't really an issue with the rest of the bari but the notes sound so weak and undesirable. Any ways to fix this?
P.S: The octave mechanics seems to be fine, since the first octave closes shut when the other is activated and vice versa.
EDIT: When the air rushes out of the octave openings, it hits against the pads, making an airy, thin sound. I think this effect is similar to what happens when you whistle, but bring a finger close to the opening of your lips, making a weakened, airy sound. What do I do?
Can someone please help me play in the lower register of the Alto Saxophone? I can only go to a low b.
I switched to bari about a month ago and I'm in marching band right now so I've already gotten used to most things about the bari but I still am having trouble with phrasing and just playing longer. Is there anyone who can help? Also does anyone have any other tips and tricks about other parts of playing it?
if there are 2 eighth notes, there'll be connected automatically. I want them separated, two single eighth notes. what shall I do? I didn't find somthing in the instruction.
I hope you understand what I want to know.
I’ve been playing the Alto Saxophone for over 2 years now, and I’ve never used/owned a pad saver.
However I recently brought a new saxophone and the dealer insisted that I buy a pad saver as it is essential to prolong the life of a Saxophone,
He also mentioned that without a pad saver the saxophone pads would be at risk of moisture/humidity, which will reduce the life of the Saxophone pads to a year or two.
Now most of the advance/pro saxophonist I’ve met do not use pad savers, instead they prefer to use swabs to clean out all the moisture after playing the saxophone and keeping the case open for an hour or two to allow the residual moisture to dry out.
Moreover some(including me) believe that pad savers actually do more harm than good by retaining moisture in them, and if you keep it inside the Saxophone then it could damage the pads.
What are your thoughts about pad savers?
