Best Hamelin Recordings

Marc-Andre Hamelin is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest virtuosi alive, and has recorded all manner of pieces. I would like to enquire as to the personal preferences of this group with regard to this Canadian master?

My own favourite recordings of his:

Alkan's Symphonie pour Piano Seul; Concerto pour piano seul; Le Festin d'Esope.
Liszt's Sonata H-moll
Saint-Saens' Piano concerto no. 2, third movemnet.

That last piece he performs unassailably.

Importance of lacquer ?

Hello everyone.

I’ve been playing the Alto Saxophone for a year and a half now, I have a used Holton Saxophone which is over 20 years old a the lacquer has almost worn out. I’ve been planning to by a new student Saxophone (conn Selmer AS-710) which is a brand new Saxophone with a full clear lacquer.
Now most of the jazz gigs I’ve been to and most of the professional saxophonist I’ve seen use Saxophones without any lacquer.

So my questions are
1) what is the importance of lacquer to Saxophone? (Does is affect the sound, or is it just for the cool look ?)
2) Is the conn Selmer AS-710 a good Saxophone for a student / beginner ? (It’s definitely in my budget)

Thanks

Resident Evil 2 and 3 Final Boss Themes for Solo Piano

Hi. I want to share my first arrange with you. I made a rearranged  version for solo piano of the "Nemesis Final Metamorphosis" and "Mr.X  Super Tyrant" themes from Resident Evil 2 and 3. I will aprecciate your  thoughts because this is my first work.

Piano, clarinet, violin and drums

Does anybody know a popular popsong that sound good with a piano, clarinet, violin and drums? I've already played 'Like I Can' from Sam Smith and I'm looking for something similar.
If you know a song, please let me know. If you have the sheetmusic from it for a piano, clarinet and violin (I don't need it for the drums) then it would be totally awesome. Thank you in advance.

Any bored composers?

I wanted to play Kelly Clarkson's 'Underneath the Tree' with my sax ensemble for our Christmas concert coming up, but the sheet music just doesn't seem to exist out there for the arrangement I need, or anything close. My ensemble includes Alto Tenor and Bari saxes, and we have somewhere around 8 members who play whichever one we need for a part. If someone has the time to make an arrangement of this song with these parts it would be greatly appreciated and I can also send you a recording of the performance if you'd like. The arrangement would have to be at least somewhat simple, and if the solo in the middle isn't quite right, or just has space for improv that's fine. I would probably need the piece in about 2 weeks in order to actually perform it, and if someone does take up the challenge, I do apologize for the time crunch.
Thanks y'all

About halfway through first movement, want some feedback

As the title suggests, I am about halfway through the first movement of a  piece I am working on. More specifically, it is the piano sonata that I  am dedicating to Beethoven.

Here is the modulation sequence I plan to use for the development section:

C, Am, F, G, Em, Fm, Bb, Cm

I  have noticed within my own works, that even though technically Bb  doesn't have dominant function in Cm, I can still use it as a sort of  secondary dominant. Probably because it is the relative major of the  dominant of Cm.

Here is the link to what I have of the sonata so far. I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on it.
