I just joined this for something to do. What exactly happens here?
It will either not change between keys or sometimes it will jump up or down an octave, but in the original key.
Getting inundated with 11 (so far) "Copyright notifications" from Musescore for arrangements of a Baroque composer André Ernest Modeste Grétry (1741 – 1813) is a bit much. Clearly in the public domain and purported to be "claimed" by Apple Music's "Alan Menken" is cray-cray... Having to address each one of these individually is way over the top. Bad things have been happening to this site lately. Really pulling the quality and usability down, down, down...

Why are some of the names in the browse by artist list in bold?
Once again my composition Minnesota has been taken down due to alleged copyright infringement. And once again without any explanation as to what I am supposed to have "stolen". To my knowledge I have written this piece myself from scratch and therefore I'm of course very surprised that someone claims that I've used someone else's work.
The last time this happened I recieved a notification that it was a mistake on your behalf and you even apologized for the mishap.
Is this yet another mistake or is there actually a piece that sounds just like mine?
If there is I would like to know where to find it so I can listen to it. (Maybe someone has actually stolen my piece of music?)
What is the correct procedure for closing my account and deleting my scores? I have not found anything on the website that indicates the correct sequence such that the scores are deleted first and the account closed second.
It is not possible to delete scores individually due to the number of scores so I'm hoping there is an automated sequence or a back-door method (script/procedure).
Thanks in advance!
I have about 400 pages of notation and I need to add tabs.
Is there a simple way to do this?
I've checked through the manual, I bet it's there but I'm not finding it.
I found how to convert them to tab, but not how to have the tab and notation both show.
Hi, my music school just emailed me telling they've made a local Summer Competition which deadline is the 1st of September, basically this competition consist of composing a piece which is 1 to 2min long (it doesn't matter which category eg. Piano solos, Orchestra, etc...), and the winner will win 100 Euro to spend in Music books and a free year of studies.
So i've made this little piano concerto with strings that is about 1:20min long.
Could you tell me in comments what to change/improve and tell me if you liked? That would be really really appreciated! :-)
Updates: Finally finished this Concerto and i'm sincerely so proud of this! Hope this win althought there are very good composers in my school, so yeah let's see for the results in September! Thank you all for the support you gave to me!!
Lots of people are copying scores from IMSLP to Musescore but it is not always easy to keep these transciptions mistake free.
Sometimes is easy to spot mistakes for people who know the pieces just by listening them, so I created the group Proofread Me.
This group is aimed to two kind of people: copysts that want their work proofread and people who want to spare a couple of minutes to spot any mistake on those transciptions.
Just upload here the scores you want to get checked (or send a link to them), or join this group if you want to help proofreading the submited scores.
I am finally putting my scores back up. I am marking them as private and they will only be able to be seen on my group. Shout out to Firefly Mango for telling me how to get my scores back up
I'm in the process of writing a score of the entire Hamilton score for concert band (https://musescore.com/user/5828726/scores/3170986). It's going okay, but the drum notation is kicking my butt, as I am not a drummer :( . If you guys could help me by providing me with some drum sheet music for Hamilton songs, that'd be great. I've watched YouTube videos and stuff, but it doesn't help me much. I'll give you guys credit in the score's description
I love my recorder, but my friends laugh, and say that it isn't even an instrument. Is this true? Help me.
After installing the recent version of musescore 3, when ever I open it it closes before I can do anything. Any solutions?
https://musescore.com/user/28728657/scores/5618597 for example (select YouTube source or this doesn't happen). Playing any score with a YouTube audio source (not video) leaves a grey box at the bottom of the score, obliterating what should be there. This has been going on for about a week; I had hoped it would get fixed, but ... That's Firefox 67.0.2, Mac Mojave.10.4.5.
CCC#2 is here!
Based on the results of the survey I sent out on Friday 7th June, it occurred to me that several of the themes which I suggested, and asked you to vote on, would in fact fit quite nicely together. Therefore, for this second competition, I have found another painting by Caspar David Friedrich, since the response for “The Watzmann” was very good. I am also going to give a genre of music (as wide as possible, but still something to go on) and a short story available in the file below.
If you would like to help judge the competition, or have any other queries, please message on Musescore, or via discord @jte#9811
Details of the competition:
- The deadline will be in 4 weeks time (Saturday 29th June)
- The genre, as chosen by the survey will be “Film Music”. This is deliberately a very wide genre in order to give the contestants freedom of creativity. There will be an award for the most original take on the task, as with the first competition.
Obviously this theme can be interpreted to fit your desires.
- The painting (shown below) and the story are both in the google docs file. If you have any issues accessing this file, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help.
- Your work must be completely original/all your own work.
- Be nice when critiquing other people’s work. Constructive criticism is fine, but don’t be rude. If you do, you will be disqualified from the competition and banned from the group.
- All pieces and comments must be appropriate.
Please let me know if you’re planning on taking part. I’d like to have an idea of who might be competing.
We're all Hamilton fans here, right? With that in mind, I have to ask a hard question: All of Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs are amazing, but if you could only listen to three of them on repeat, which ones would you choose?
I scan sheet music and import into museScore, but everything comes across okay, but no lyrics. How can I get my lyrics to come across as well?
Did any of y'all create horrible pieces of music the first time you joined Musescore?
Got questions about music, instruments, brand names, more?
Fellow members will try to answer them to the best of their ability.
(Life advice is fine as well, I suppose)
