20th January Musical Cryptogram

My friends sometimes ask me to translate his or her name into a musical composition. I must confess that I love these activities as it forces you to make a melodic line out of it. So my challenge is:

Make a piece of music out of a name (can be anyone's)
Pieces should be longer than one minute and less than 3 minutes.
If those who are confused in how to use cryptograms then here is one way you could do this (French method):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_cryptogram

I would judge your pieces based on originality, how beautiful it is and bonus if difficult names are used.
Please in your titles that you need to state the name of the person
The winner will have their piece upvoted and will be followed by me.

Here is an example where the piece uses a musical cryptogram:

Your submission will be due at 15th February

My Pieces

Hey guys! I'm new to this group and I figured I might as well put my music out there now! I am a percussionist and am most prominent in writing for mallet percussion, but I also love to write for band, choir, and musical theater! Feel free to check them all out and give me feedback.

Musecorps Composition Competition #2 - End of the Decade!

Hello again, everyone!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the last competition. If you didn’t see, Kyri_Leal here on MuseScore won the previous composition! Here is the link to their arrangement, if you’d like to check it out:
https://youtu.be/ebZF_inBSeY

For this next competition, I figured we would celebrate the end of the decade. Arrange a song from any genre that was released this decade (2010-2019) for a drum corps.

Here are the rules:
- Follow typical drum corps format (3 trumpet, 2 mellophone, 3 baritone, 1-2 tuba)
- You don't need to include percussion, but it might increase your chances of winning if you do so
- Only submit one arrangement per person!
- Arrangement must be at least 1:30 long, but no more than 5:00
- You MUST submit your arrangement by January 22nd, 2020 (Date may change, but it will NOT be any sooner than January 22nd)

When you're ready to enter, just reply to this post with a link to your arrangement.

Unlike the first competition, I am offering more to the winners. On top of posting your arrangement to my YouTube channel, I will be gifting the winner of this competition with a month of MuseScore Pro.

Good luck! If you have any questions, ask me through a reply to my comment below, please. It just makes keeping track of the submissions easier. Thanks!

Original Mallet Percussion Quartet/Quintet Pieces

Hey guys!
I joined this group a little while ago and forgot that I never posted a discussion, lol. I've been officially composing music for about four years now and I'm the principal percussionist of my high school. I've written a mallet quartet piece called "The Ticking Clock" which was accepted into a state composer's competition during my sophomore year; I went back later and wrote a follow up to that piece called "The End", which is a mallet quintet piece that has never been played before. Eventually, I'd like to write more of these mallet compositions and turn them into one conjoined piece or something! Let me know what you think!

Variation on a theme contest (Ended)

It is about the time of the anniversary of the death of my beloved grandfather. As I think I have not done enough deeds for him before he passed away, I would honour him with a contest. I would like you to make a variation on this theme by Schumann. I gave you historical background on the piece in the description of the work.

Edit: Link closed due to the end of the contest

Rules:
This must only be for piano solo
The variation must be under 4 minutes and longer than 30 seconds.
You may use any form in your composition: sonata, rondo, theme or variations
Have fun!

Winners will  have a follow from me and maybe have their piece placed in my upcoming Carnaval suite for solo piano.

The contest will end on 6 January (Happy birthday Scriabin!)
Extended to 10th January

Good job to MadDuck for winning this contest!
