For Pete's sake let's talk about Music.!!!! (and no hijacking to talk about silliness, mentioning no names.....Chinadoll.!!!
Lots of people are copying scores from IMSLP to Musescore but it is not always easy to keep these transciptions mistake free.
Sometimes is easy to spot mistakes for people who know the pieces just by listening them, so I created the group Proofread Me.
This group is aimed to two kind of people: copysts that want their work proofread and people who want to spare a couple of minutes to spot any mistake on those transciptions.
Just upload here the scores you want to get checked (or send a link to them), or join this group if you want to help proofreading the submited scores.
A long time ago, there were peace between the woodwinds and the brass. No one disturbed one another, no one interacted with the other. It was until a clarinet got rich and married a trumpet. This was how the saxophones were created, - those disgusting brass clarinets, who once were part of us, but now are part of our past.
if you could go back in time and kill one person, would you?
(me personally i would absolutely not do it but i wanna see if anyone would and why)
What is your opinion on this? When a kid is misbehaving, is spanking an appropriate response when no other methods work? Are there any better methods of making a child listen to you, or is this the most effective one?
which do you believe to be better?
Inspired the game over at MyAnimeList (http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1518596), let's count upwards and see how far we can go until a count breaker (listed below) comments and makes us start over.
(The title is kept for historical significance. Count breakers were Pro users with 200+ followers in Season 1)
- A player may only post once every 24 hours** or after another player has posted, whichever comes first.
- A post by a count breaker (listed below) restarts the count (that post is 0).
- The count must go up in order (no missing numbers).
- A counter who holds the last post of a run of at least 10 becomes a place holder.
- A counter can only hold one place at a time. If they win a run that is higher than their record on the board, their record is updated; otherwise, the run is ignored and not placed.***
- Top 3 place holders become count breakers next season (this includes staff).
- The season restarts every 12 pages.
- A run is allowed to spill into the next season, up to a maximum of one page. The new count breakers start as soon as the count is broken or when the count reaches the second page, whichever comes first.*
- MuseScore staff (those with the "staff" badge) count as normal, but they can additionally nullify a count breaker's 0 post and turning it into a regular count post by posting immediately after it (i.e. with no post in between). The staff's post should be x+2, where x is the number in the post immediately before the count was broken.****
* Introduced in Season 3
** Introduced in Season 6
*** Introduced in Season 7
**** Introduced in Season 10
As a courtesy, if your post is wrong because someone posted before you, edit your post instead of deleting it.

I'll start: 1
I received an email sent at 8:15am about one of my scores "When You Wish Upon A Star" being taken down for copyright infringement.
To be specific, it is my arrangement of the song for piano from the Disney movie Pinocchio. The licensing under this score is "Attribution" due to the fact that it's my arrangement of the song and I do not want anyone to claim the specific arrangement as their own, not the original song itself. The reason I am bringing up the licensing is because I'm not clear on whether the copyright strike is because of
1) my score is based off a popular song
2) the incorrect licensing
3) or a software glitch (as mentioned by Mike in another discussion post on this forum)
If it's possible, I can always change it to public domain. This is my first time receiving this notice, so I am unaware of what exactly happened. I'm hoping this can be settled and one of the staff members can take away this strike and make my score public again.
Also if anyone can educate me about whether I did the right thing about licensing my score as "Attribution" I'd greatly appreciate it.
I realy want to do some video game music from Zelda but i don't know wic song to do. I am new to the group but i hope you will still help me.
I am new to this discussion process so please be patient with me. I don't know if I am entering my question correctly, but here goes. After I have added notes to the staff in my composition, I can play each note individually by pressing the right arrow and moving to each note on the right. When there is a chord to the right then the entire chord is played, but only on that staff. Is there currently, or my suggestion is to add, some key combination, such as pressing the ALT or CTRL key along with the right arrow, that will play all the notes in the treble and bass clefs of that instrument where I have selected the note to play, or another key combination, again the ALT or CTRL key that will play all the corresponding notes in all the instruments I have included in my composition. That way I can hear if all the notes fit together.
remember when this was a thing
I have created a score of the iconic Jellyfish Fields theme from the original game in celebration of the remaster. Now is the time to celebrate the old to hype up the new.
I was at Barnes and Nobles recently, while there was a famous author signing books there. It blocked of the DVD section and there was a table set up at the front of the store with someone there to explain what was happening. The person there was quite nice and explained things in an understandable way... until some jack*ss asked him, and I quote, "What the f**k is going on here?" The person running the table starting to explain and the guy said, "Whatever I don't care," in the rudest way possible. The person running the stand said, "Thank you for your kindness," sarcastically. It was really funny, so I just kinda smiled and the person at the stand saw me smile. He smiled back and it was kinda nice. Anybody have similar experiences?
Also, as a side note: Are there really no Admins?
If Satan is the Father of All Lies, and everything he says is a lie, then if he says "I am lying." Is he lying that he's lying, and therefore telling the truth? But if he tells the truth, then the truth is that he is lying.
If God is omnipotent, can he create a stone so big that even he can't move it?
Swiss cheese has holes.
The more pieces of cheese you have, the more holes you have.
The more holes you have, the less cheese you have.
Thus, the more cheese you have, the less cheese you have.
What'd you think?
I've noticed there haven't been many discussions, so to get the chatting going, I making this discussion about favorite Pokemon, so what ever it is, put it out there! It's pretty obvious what mine is but I'll restate it. My favorite is Spoink. I also like, Crustle, Shuckle, and Magikarp (no joke!)
This is my first concerto I've attempted to make, I've been playing piano for about 7 years now, I started when I was 6, so expect this to be a garbage concerto. Please tell how it is so far, Thank you
I'm writing a piano concerto, and I would like for the arpeggio in the right hand to be independent rhythmically to the eighth notes in the left hand. Currently, the arpeggio is written as a 9-tuplet with fermatas over each note. The result is a swung bass which really does not fit the style of the piece.
As a matter of notation, I made the arpeggio note heads small to indicate a lack of rhythm, but the note heads in the left hand standard to indicate that they are to be played at tempo. Is there any way currently, or could there possibly be any way in the future, that this effect could be achieved in playback? The fermata trick is already a huge step forward from when one would have to change the tempo for each note; I think there could even be a better way to implement rubato.
