My Summer Challange: 10 compositions

As stated in the title, the best way to improve your composing skills is to compose (cliché but very true). Therefore, I will embark on a journey of trying to compose a minimum of 10 compositions over summer break. I want you guys to spread the word and join me! Perhaps, this can not only be a chance to learn, but, also meet new people.

The rules are as follows:
You can comment down below featuring your new piece and give a short description of it if you like (e.g. inspiration, the style and question about something you may be unsure about).
You can post up to 5 scores per comment, but, let's be nice to everyone, by not spamming the comments in order to get views.

A suggested format would be:
The number of the piece
piece title - url
short description

Example:
Gould:
composition #1
''So you want to write a fugue?'' - musescore.com/gould/so-you-want-to-write-a-fugue
A satirical piece...

It is okay if a piece turns out bad or short, the point is that you just do it and have fun along the way.

Funny stories that happened to you?

So, Phia had this posted, but she's gone and I'm trying to get this group active, so I'm asking the question again.

Also, I know this is a bad idea, but I'm going to choose another admin. So, your story that you post in this discussion, if you want to be an admin, must follow these rules:
1. It must be true, and has to have happened to you, not someone else.
2. It has to be written in proper English. In other words, "girl" can't be "gal", etc.
3. It has to actually be funny.
4. It can't contain anything inappropriate, profanity, etc.

If it goes against any of these rules, you will automatically be eliminated from the contest.
Also, I won't be very active until Sunday or Monday, so if you request to join the group, you may not get accepted until then, but the contest closes on the 23rd, so you should still have time.

You can still post stories, even if you don't want to participate in the contest. Just, please, specify whether your story is for the admin contest or not.

Have fun!

Does the education system need to be reformed?

I believe that it does.
I am currently taking summer classes to get ahead and so I can have some extra electives for my sophomore year. While taking these, I realized, "It only took me 2 and a half months to finish 2 classes. Why does it last 9 months then? Not only that, but i could have done more classes in this time frame and still completed it! " I believe that they drag these classes out far longer than they need to and 9 months is completely unnecessary. Now, I do understand that many people learn at different paces. However, the number can easily be lowered to 4.5 months so you could get through 2 classes of the same subject completed in one school year. Of course we can't just change it in one year, and go from 2.5 month classes to 4.5 month classes, but we could gradually move towards that until we can reach that point. I also think that the whole "seat time" requirement should be changed as well. The number of school days has been increasing, and I don't think it does any good! The ideas of the educations system seem to be more focused on "quantity" rather than quality, which does no good for the students. All it does it give teachers more money (I do believe that teachers and those in this field are underpayed). It would cost money for the new curriculum to be made, and I think some money distribution needs to be worked on. Ex: take some (but not all... leave enough money needed) from the DOD, things like that.

This is all just a jumbled rough draft of ideas. You can come up with your own policy for it, add on to eachothers, or if you think it's fine the way it is, you can leave it that way. My "plan" is a rough draft, and I plan on clarifying more, but I think you get the gist of it. I'm interested to see what you guys bring to the table!
