This is how all high school Clarinet sections are.

Clarinet 1, 2, and 3 all play as separate sections. The Clarinet 1 section always has all of the try hards on that row. They can never really play together with each other because they are always trying to show that they can play their parts better than all of us sitting behind them. Whenever there is a really technical part (With lots of INK! LOL!) they are the ones who are NEVER afraid to try it, while playing confidently at full volume. Basically these are the only players you can hear out of the entire section for most of the piece. The Clarinet 2 and 3 sections are more unified than the first. We are the players that sit behind and we are the first to be ok with not knowing how to play our part and pulling our clarinets down and letting the firsts handle those difficult parts. The ONLY thing these two rows can do better than first is stay playing together. This is because before even discussing, it is understood that when it comes to the difficult parts we all collectively REST. while they continue. You can never hear us when we are playing by ourselves, and you won't ever hear us playing over the Clarinet 1 row like we are supposed to, because we are always unsure of how our parts are supposed to sound.

This is a piece that means a lot to me. I started writing it back in late October, inspired by events in my life from the previous few months. I worked very slowly on it, maybe a minute or so every few days, but what it meant to me was quite a lot. 

It got halted in November, after just the first 16 bars had been written.  

Almost 6 months on from that, I decided to carry on, realising that I could use it as a way to see how I've changed as a composer since then. The short answer is - I haven't. The first melody still came back. The second section represents where I've been in the intervening 6 months, but ultimately I've discovered I'm still the person I was, 10 Months On (from July 2018). I'm pretty happy with that.  

I hope you enjoy it. This is not a work intended to be criticised too hard, and I have no plans to edit it. This is just what came to me to write, not something I've slaved over.

Is this arrangement good?

Hello! I am Mark Catahan and I arranged a piece from Francisco Tarrega which was Gran Vals. It is originally a guitar piece but I transcribed and arranged it for a string quartet. With my arrangement, something is bugging me about how I arranged it and I do not know what it is. So I kinda need some help on figuring out what needs to improve in the arrangement. Thanks!
