Musecorps Drum Corps Recording #1

Link to the Full Score: https://musescore.com/themtcrew/scores/5217400

Hello! Mark and I have finalized the brass parts for the ballad of our original show, 2 + 2 = 5. The ballad we've chosen is The Hymn of Acxiom by Vienna Teng, as we believe it fits the theme of the show - George Orwell's "1984" - perfectly.

If you are unfamiliar with the project, here is a quick summary:
Mark and I plan to have as many of you submit recordings of yourselves playing through the show as we can. We will then compile the recordings into one large file, and place it over virtual drill that Mark is writing, to create a virtual drum corps of sorts. If you'd like to record, here's all the info you'll need!

1.) Parts
You can play through as many parts as you'd like. In fact, we would much appreciate it if you did! (For example, if you play the trumpet, it will be better for the end result if you record and submit all three trumpet parts, rather than just doing one) Of course, you don't have to do this! Mark and I will be listening through each recording of the trumpet soloist's part, and picking the one we think would best benefit the overall recording.
2.) Recordings
We would prefer if you submit one large (3-ish minute) recording, but if you find it difficult to play through the part(s) in one sitting, please refer to the recording guide below!
Here is the link to all the parts: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CTplR1RBHZX2YCJZ80M35VF20sjaPI9u?usp=sharing
3.) Recording Guide
Recording One: Beginning to Letter D
Recording Two: Letter D to Letter F (Trumpets, include two measure pick-up)
Recording Three: Letter F to Letter I
Recording Four: Letter I to the end

Again, we'd much prefer your recording be from the beginning to the end, to simplify our own work, but we decided to include this in case some need the breaks in between. Trumpets obviously don't need a recording one/four, as they don't play at these points. Please play the part at the exact tempo that's listed. This can easily be done by playing along with the recording (preferably while wearing a headset!).
4.) Submitting
If you have recorded the entirety of the ballad at once, submit an MP3/MP4 file with this name as the format:
Username_PartName_Full
If you used the segmented guide above, use this format:
Username_PartName_RecordingNumber

ex. TheMTCrew_Trombone1_Rec1
OR
markmacri_Mellophone1_Full

Send submissions to themtcrewparts@gmail.com.

If you have any questions, ask them below! Thanks everyone!

User experience improvement

Hi,

your app-version of musescore is awesome. But there are two small features that are missing which would be such a huge user experience improvement:

1. Remembering the zoom level
Things like tempo and muting instruments are saved, but not the zoom level. It really sucks to zoom in a few times on every small practice session.

2. Prescrolling the notes
When all notes displayed are played, the next pages appears. But in that moment you don't know what to play, because you simply can't see it. You can't play a piece completely without interruptions. Just scroll a bit when you are half way trough the notes currently displayed or something like that.

If these two things get implemented, i'll be premium member for years... guaranteed! :)

Thanks for listening and keep up the great work.

MuseScore 3 crashed after adding MuseScore Drumline!

I had a perfectly good MuseScore 3 working program, after upgrading to the latest version 3.0.5. There was a link to download MuseScore Drumline, which I clicked and installed the extension. Now I can't get MuseScore to load at all!

I've re-downloaded it but Windows 10 refuses to open it. All I get is increased CPU and Memory usage and eventually I have to close the unopened app.

Any suggestions?

Issues converting PDF with Audiveris

Hi everybody,

I got 11 pieces to prepare for next week and I'm too slow reading *PANIC*
I found about Audiveris https://musescore.com/import !
worked fine the first pdf but then kept the second pdf in queue since yesterday without any result, all scores have good quality, contrast an not so complex!

Is there a way to take out the music out of queue so I can retry for example?

Can I do the computing with my machine instead of queue it somewhere?
and/or
Did somebody tried to install Audiveris from the Github repo?
I have a Mac and before installing a virtual machines for running Windows so I can install it I wanted to make sure it works etc!

Thank you for any tips or advices :D

I like water

water is the one compound that breaks the law of both physics and chemistry, water expands when it freezes, hot water freezes faster than cold water, the molecule H20 is the 2nd most common molecule found in the universe, the water we have in our body probs been in the dinosaurs b4, water droplets can move up a vertical surface if pulled by other water droplets, water entered our planet millions of years after our planet was formed//////

Android MuseScore app fails to open MuseScore files

The MuseScore app (with the integrated Songbook functionality) fails to open MuseScore files (e.g. on the file system or as e-mail attachments). The MuseScore app is simply not suggested as an app to open a .mscz file with.

Any other users having issues with this?

The good old MuseScore Songbook app (not available anymore for new users) doesn't have any problems with that on my Android devices.

Create or save edited instrument - string tunings

I am using MuseScore to convert folk tunes in notation to Tenor Banjo tab, adding a banjo tab stave then copying the notation stave to the tab stave - a great facility, very easy and convenient to use.

I have not found a ready made banjo setting that has strings tuned G,D,A,E in the MuseScore instrument list, so I have to edit each string each time I add a banjo tab stave. Can I save my string tuning to MuseScore as a new or edited instrument?
