I need to find a name for my antique 1940s solid metal clarinet... my flute is named Felipe, and need a name that goes nicely with it.
Thanks for your help!
So im in marching band and I'm the only flute out of 16 hornline, mostly brass...
I keep trying to play louder but it always goes up an octave or makes an awful screeching noise. Even though I have been playing for about two years, I've never found a solution to the problem. I was wondering if any of you could give me some tips on how to play louder but still sound decent during competitions.
Mine is my rondo for a sonata collab
I will update this weekly
Group is created today! Woohoo! *confetti and stuff falls from sky*
Eek! I forgot to do this yesterday. The group is already dying, so uhh… :o
@Jaybird1 is one of the first truly active members, I told him I would give him a shoutout here, so here you go :P
I haven't updated this in a while, this group is blowing up now...
Holy cow, this group is blowing up. 8 members in 4 days, wow...
Hmm...Starting to die again...
Welp...I was wrong...
I was very wrong, this group is really blowing up, welp
So I had to kick a member (Indy500) for spamming a link to an unsecure website. Sorry, but spam for no purpose is not tolerated.
I've thought that I'd like to arrange some pop music for clarinet, so feel free to request for arrangements below!! (not guaranteed that i'll accept any though...)
I'm currently busy with an arrangement and a couple of compositions, so I'd not be able to take on any offers right now. But feel free to make suggestions (if you don't need them quick) below and I may pick them up one day!
Is anybody able to make a clarinet sweet but psycho cover. I really want to play this song. It would be very much appreaciated.
Congrats on earning your Eagle Scout! It is a high honor! Introduce yourself here. Things like: what was your Eagle Project? What were some of your favorite merit badges? Did you receive your Order of the Arrow award? Have a great time.

What kind of ligatures do you guys use?
This is a theme I wrote for the Palancar Valley, a location in one of my favorite book series, Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle. If you are unfamiliar with the location, it is where the hero first lives, before setting off on his adventure (I also recommend you go and read the books!). This is a work in progress, there are supposed to be some cymbals and snares, but MuseScore wasn't playing them properly. I have ported this over from Sibelius as an xml file, so that could be where the problem lies. I hope you enjoy it, I plan to be writing quite a lot for this book series!
P.S. I hope I can get away with posting this in the Clarinet group. There's a nice duet with the flutes, so I'm using that as my excuse!
I am a clarinet player and honestly I'm interested to hear what other clarinetists favourite parts of music to play are. Personally, I quite enjoy slow and heavy emotional lines (Air for Band is one of my favourite pieces to play for this reason,,)
What are some of your favourite pieces to play?
Hi everyone! Now I am a new member of your group! I am a student in Redwood middle school in Saratoga, and I'm in Griffin band. Is there anyone same as me?
Hello dear woodwinds,
There are pieces for double bass and wind ensembles already, but they are rather difficult to listen to, so I've been arranging two pieces originally for double bass and piano; one of them to woodwind quintet, and the other one to concert band. I've been studying woodwinds a lot so I think I've made nice parts. Please have a listen:
I'm in one of the first ensembles to play the piece, and if you can get your hands on it, you need to play it. It's a very Clarinet-heavy work, with an Oboe Solo (Clarinets play a second, hidden part, so I don't know if it's a solo), A trumpet solo, a Flute solo, and a Sax Quartet. Music for a gentler time indeed...
It might not be released yet, just look for the Clinton High School Wind Ensemble's performance of it in March. It may be released, I don't know. Just keep a look out.
(If I'm way to active, let me know)
Great emotional piece with some legendary oboe solos. Be sure to have mastered dynamic influence while going into notes, that's a key part in this song. Don't forget to breath, you'll need all the air possible for this one.
The craziest people I've ever known are double reeds. Like thinking about the strangest things for no reason, even though you have no interest in them. Maybe it's the back pressure getting to my skull.
Will let you know if I get any aneurysms lol
To all those who play the flute, what exactly do we call ourselves? Like people who play the clarinet are clarinetists, people who play percussion are percussionists, but what are we? Flutists? Flautists? Floutisits? Flutation devices?
