Hello, my name is Cameron Henn. Im looking into writing shows and have concepts, but I don't really have COMPLETED concepts with music. I play snare drum, have marched everything, and my writing proficiency is pretty decent. If anyone is looking for a writer please write back! Thanks all and happy writing!!!

Indiana Storm Productions INC. looking for percussion arranger

Over the next year, Indiana Storm Productions will be putting a Indoor Winds group out and then in 2019 planning on fielding a Junior Open Class Corps. The plans are for 32 brass, 14 field percussion, 14 guard and 5+ pit. We will be needing a percussion arranger looking to make a mark upon the drum corps scene. Over the first 3 years, the corps will hopefully grow to full sized as finances and membership permit. If you are interested, please email me at director@indianastorm.net.
The organizational website is at http://indianastorm.net/. We are starting to pull our staff together early so that we may have time to discuss programmatic issues.

Using [Basic] Counterpoint for Strings, and Starting Out

Writing for strings can be a difficult process and there are so many variables whenever you delve into writing for string players. This strategy may help with some problems, but not all problems will be fixed automatically.

Use counterpoint to help add to your melodies. Keep in mind that you need to be acquainted with counterpoint and counterpoint isn't always easy. If you need help with counterpoint, I'll give you some advice.
- Whenever you have only one line [melody], use the following intervals: Unison, major/minor seconds, Major/minor thirds, Perfect fourths/fifths (watch out and don't use fifths more than once), Major/minor sixths, Octaves or perfect eights... Notice there aren't any Dissonant or augmented values [you're allowed to write them If you don't want strict counterpoint]!
- If you have two voices and want to make each voice singable, be sure to use the following intervals: Unison, Major/minor thirds, Perfect fifths [watch out for paralles] (fourths make it harder for your singers), Major/minor sixths, and Octaves/perfect eights... Notice there aren't any Dissonant or augmented values [you're allowed to write them If you don't want strict counterpoint]!

That's all you need to know. Start with writing for solo instead of a duet. After you learned a little more about counterpoint from that; Write one (more) solo for viola. Afterwards, write a duet piece for any 2 string instruments; Follow the advice for singable voices.

NOTE: THIS ISN'T ALL THERE IS TO COUNTERPOINT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE, GO TO THIS VIDEO SERIES ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/JcqrGLvs95M?list=PLA660D90FB432BD69. TURN UP YOUR VOLUME CAUSE IT'S A BIT SILENT.

Rag Tales album

My new album "Rag Tales" is out now. You can find it on Spotify, ITunes, Apple Music, and Google Play among others. I got started right here on Musescore when I was invited to the ragtime players group. Please check it out. I think you will enjoy it. Thank you friends. Just search for " CJ Brandt" or "Rag Tales". Thanks again

Looking for help transcribing percussion parts for Drum Corps shows.

Hi! I've been transcribing drum corps shows for a bit under a year now. I've always had a problem with transcribing percussion, however. I can somewhat manage to transcribe front ensemble parts sometimes, but I'm mostly lost with snare/tenor/bass parts. If anyone can help me transcribe parts for any of my shows, that'd be great! I'm looking for people who either play percussion and/or are experienced with writing/transcribing perc parts.

If you do send me percussion parts, I'll obviously credit you on the score.

The five shows I have that I'd like to have full percussion scores for at some point are:
Carolina Crown 2010 - A Second Chance
Carolina Crown 2015 - Inferno
Carolina Crown 2016 - Relentless
The Academy 2016 - Drum Corpse Bride
The Cadets 2016 - Awakening

All five scores are in my spotlight, if you'd like to view them. As a last note, I'm sure to transcribe more shows in the future, and I'd love help with those too.

Thanks! Leave a comment or send me a message if you're interested.
