It would mean a lot if you guys would check out and listen to a marching band show I arranged. Any feedback is welcome! The title of the show is "Off One's Rocker" and the inspiration for it came from the 2018 production of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, "On Madness and Creativity." This three movement production includes repertoire such as Bolero by Maurice Ravel, Asphalt Cocktail by John Mackey, as well as many other pieces! Hope you guys enjoy!
I want to start a new marching band project and cant think of any show concepts. Please leave your suggestions in comments i would love to have source music to arrange.
I am composing a marching band show just for fun and need help with the percussion parts. I am struggling. I am a baritone player so i have no idea how to write for percussion/ drumline.
Note: The weird 32nd notes on the rail arent supposed to be played that way its written like that to sound like a susspended cymbal roll. Thanks

This is still a work in progress. Please leave critiques/ and suggestions for percussion.
I am making an upright bass do you have any useful info?
If I may, I would like to suggest a contest: Find the worst soundfont you can (MuseScore 1 is acceptable if you don't want to download a new one - just use oboe, accordion, or another really bad-sounding instrument soundfont), then write a short song for it and see if you can make it sound good! It can be for any instrument.
The idea is credit of Benjamin Basford (https://musescore.com/basfordmedia - discussion here: https://musescore.com/basfordmedia/moriartys-grip#comment-1049596). The deadline is August 9th, so you have a full month to do it. The judges (me and whoever else would like to be one) can enter but may not judge themselves.
I know how to do 3rd position and I am now starting to use the 2nd one, but I don´t the 30% of the notes well. Do you know any trick that will help me learning the position relatively fast?.

Hi! I'm excited to see all these viola players gathered in one group. It's so hard to find a good spot like this because violas are so underrated. Anyways, I'm an aspiring viola player who needs a LOT of practice, and I was wondering if any of the more experienced players could recommend some music that might be good for someone playing at a 6th-8th grade level. I've only been playing for 3 years, so I think that would be a good area for me. Thanks!
I recently finished writing a chamber piece for flute, oboe, and harp. I'm hoping to enter it in a competition this fall, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
honestly i feel like the flute doesnt have much RESPECT in the woodwind section
This music music has a sense of tragedy with romanticism and a bit of modernism accents.
Of course you will hear one of the most popular classical music progressions (baroque epochs progressions of fifth) but i wanted to do my own version of that progression. Maybe you can relate my piece with someone others... leave your comment i would like to know what others think...
If its not asking too much i would like to have a sound effect for a gock shot on snare drum. If there already is one then someone tell me how to get the drumset sound for it.
When I'm writing for any ensemble that contains the MDL instruments i always experience a glitch that happens after i stop playing the score. I will usually click the stop button and when it does a huge bang of all of the instruments in MDL being used come at unison and full volume. This will happen a few times and after so many MDL will start glitching and it will make the velocity go all over the place. It makes it sound almost corrupt. I know it isnt corrupt because after restarting the platform everything is fine. Then the sound happens again and it goes haywire and i have to restart the program once again. I've experienced this before but only now has it become extremely prominent. This is my main issue however the problem with shots also bothers me. The unaccented taps are louder than a rim shot. I can get around it by using a ping shot (which is slightly louder but it is still a bit quieter than an accented note) however i still prefer to use a rimshot. Thanks for listening! Hope you can figure out the problem soon.Reply
I completed an arrangement of a piece by Handel with a preferable custom audio (because the other one is too echo-ish and too "mush" in sound), the piece I arranged is a movement from Royal Fireworks named "La Rejouissance". The piece is for young string players. Please give me positive feedback, all is welcomed!
