I've composed a Viola Sonata (1st movement, part of an incomplete collab), and hope that y'all could check it out and give some comments!
I'm playing in a group of two violins and two violas (including myself) for solo ensemble. We're looking for a piece, and would like to do a modern song (we've looked at Titanium and Rather Be if that gives you an idea of what we want) but haven't been able to find anything that suits our skill level, which is about beginner to intermediate. Does anybody have suggestions or links to sheet music? Thanks!
Please check it out and leave feedback! Thanks! :D
Hey, cellists! I am a Suzuki student just finishing up book 10 (last cello book) and I was wondering what I should learn next. Book 10 consists of 1 piece: the Boccherini Cello Concerto #1. The only other cello concerto I've learned is the Haydn cello concerto #1, which is Suzuki book 9. I am about Intermediate level, I've been playing for almost 9 years. I know that the Dvorak Cello Concerto, Elgar concerto, and Shostakovich concertos are really famous, maybe one of them is next? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
So I am planning to buy a loop station for my acoustic cello - Any experience with this? Can you recommend any loop stations and pickups (or whatever else I need)?
This is a duet that I wrote a few days ago. I thought it sounded lovely so I would like to share it with all of you!
Hello guys! I happen to be an amateur Cellist.... Any suggestions on Pieces i could start off with? Not to technical and would help my precision and finger movement.
A cello is taken to hospital. The doctor examines it and says:
"There's nothing wrong with you. But you broke your bow. How did that happen?"
Cello: "I only remember the thunderous applause for the composer."
Doctor: "Do you remember his name?"
Cello: "No. I think he was on the first page of the sheet music."
Any cello players hmu
This is a short arrangement of the beautiful hymn "Abide with Me" for string quartet. Hope you enjoy!
Would anyone happen to have any viola and bass duet pieces? Me and my friend are looking for something that is beginner-intermediate*, and the bass part does have something more than quarter notes. I'll also be okay with a Viola/Cello part, as long as it doesnt go below a low E. Thanks!
*We've been playing for about six months, and the hardest we've done is doing Moana songs (like 4 songs in one score). I'm sure we could also figure out a intermediate piece too.
I need two motifs for two cats one is mischievous and the other is curious.
I am doing a string quartet in G major the time signature is 4/4.
Each motifs needs to start and end on G/B/D and be no longer than a bar long.
Any suggestions please
This is my first attempt on string quartet! I will be glad if you can give me some feedback!
So I only have a few measures of a first movement but I hope to expand this into a full 4 movement string quartet. Thing is, I find it hard to get the combination of being in sonata form and still being interesting when it gets past duets into trios and quartets. I know it should be easier because I have more freedom with a string quartet than with a piano sonata but no, I have always found piano sonatas easier to compose.
Here is my first draft. You can see that I go from a Tutti to the cello playing solo which really brings out the warm sound of the cello. I plan on having the other instruments come back one by one until I reach Tutti again. So here is the link:
