All scores I try to play on the website keep lagging behind. The song plays normally but the red bar showing where the song is up to is lagging. It seems to have very slow tempo causing this to get the song out of sync.
I'm trying to upload a piece that I've been working on for a few weeks, and it is having trouble uploading. I've tried twice and both times they "processed" for 2-3 hours and then said "page not found." The piece is 419 measures long which makes me think that is a factor, but I'm not sure. Can anyone direct me?

A cool addition to this website would be a counter on a group page that shows who is online.
I tried to install Musescore 3.0.1 and it would not do it. I have Windows 7 on my computer. Is the newer version of Musescore not for Windows 7?
Today marks the release of MuseScore Piano Roll. Piano Roll is a popular and convenient method to display piano notation in a way that not only simplifies learning a new piece for novice musicians who lack a teacher, it also beautifully visualizes each score.
(Video captured from https://musescore.com/classicman/scores/33715 )
Give it a try by simply clicking on the Piano Roll icon now available on all solo piano scores. Be sure to tell us what you think in Improving MuseScore.com!
All of these improvements are designed to not only make MuseScore.com the most valuable resource online for sharing and discovering great musical works but for learning them as well.
We hope you’ll be as excited about this new feature as we were to create it for you, and as always we look forward to your feedback.
This is just the first of an exciting series of updates and releases for MuseScore PianoRoll; we're already hard at work on improving the experience!
Hello! So I've just got some suggestions (and bugs that need to be fixed) that maybe you could take into consideration about groups on this site?
1. Blocked users are still able to join your groups
When I block someone, I don't want them in my groups. I mean, technically I could make the group moderated or invite only, but it'll still be a lot more convenient if I didn't have to repeatedly deny a user membership (which has happened several times in the past with trolls/plagiarizers/spammers)
2. Admins can remove the group owner as admin, and group owners can remove themselves as admins
I guess the group owners can technically choose that they don't want to be admins anymore, but accidental removal of the owner by an admin has happened. I'm guessing this is a bug?
3. Admins should be able to kick users without having to find them in the members list
When you have to scroll through 500+ people just to find one user you want to kick, it's kinda annoying :P. And I have had to do this...more than once. Or maybe you should be able to have a search bar in the members section so admins can just type in their username and have them pop up without having to scroll through the entire thing. Same goes for making a user a new admin of the group.
4. Moderated groups - owners get notifications for each join request AND when the user "joins the group" - in other words, when the request is approved
I mean, the join request notification is fine, but it's a bit annoying when I get a notification right after I myself let a user into my group. I think the notification thing is great for open or even invite only groups, though.
5. Maybe groups could have a thing where owners/admins can pin discussions?
Sometimes really interesting discussions get lost after a really short time, especially if the group is really active. It would also be nice if someone really wanted to highlight something in the group but didn't want to make the group description too long or cluttered.
6. Ability to "follow" discussions?
Some discussions are really interesting. But sometimes, we aren't the creators of these discussions, so we don't know when it gets updated (and have to repeatedly check it for more comments). I think following discussions will be a cool and convenient feature.
I see how to delete a measure of it's notes. However, I do not see how to delete the actual measure... as in how to shorten a song.
Is Musescore able to add note letter to each partiture automatically?
For starting pianist it is much easier to play music to have music sheet notes and letter above each note.
Do I need to do it manually or can Musescore do it automatically?
Songbook (and Version 2.0 of MuseScore) can not read MuseScore 3.0 files. When will this be fixed?
You may think is silly, but I have two accounts, one is Pro and one will be Pro soon. When I have an account open to the "My Scores" page, I have to change to my profile to see which account name I'm looking at. It would be nice to know which account I'm looking at all the time.
Hi everybody, I'm doing a big band arrangement, and have got my head round most of the MuseScore features I need. But what I would like to do, and I'm sure it must be possible, is find a way to insert the same text in every instrument's part for a given bar. eg 'cadenza'. At the moment I use the chord notation function - cntrl K - and repeat for every part. But I'm sure there must be a way to input the text once only, and have it appear in every part. What am I missing?
I received such an email today and have never made said request.
I believe that classical music is underappreciated due to many people thinking it's "old". It seems like no one knows about modern classical music nowadays, and for a long time, neither did I. You dont really hear too much about modern composers because they aren't as popular.
I recently downloaded the latest version. I was enjoying a lot of the new features, but one thing I found to be INCREDIBLY irritating.
Let's say there are 2 eighth rests next to each other and I want to put a chord over each one. The chords do NOT snap into place and the rests do NOT move in order to accommodate the chord. Instead the chords stack on top of one another. The same thing happens if I want to put a chord over a rest and there is a NOTE next to it that I want to put a chord over.
This does not happen when the chords are placed over notes, but it does happen whenever I put a chord over a rest. It is only a problem when I want to put more than one chord in a measure, but I do this fairly frequently.
Anyone have a fix? Thanks!
I try to practice piano with the Piano Marvel program.
The program needs XML files.
What I have done
- I created a file in Musicsore
- I put the fingerings over the notes
- I export the file as * .musicxml and * .mxl
Problem in "Pianomarvel"
- The fingerings are not directly above the notes.
- The fingerings are above the staff line.
(The stems cover the fingerings)
- The fingerings for the proposal notes are missing.
- I exported the mxl and musicxml after"Final Notepad"
- In Finale Notepad I saved this again as an xml file.
Result in "PianoMarvel":
- The fingerings are correctly above the note OK.
- The fingerings of the proposal notes are missing.
I would be grateful for any help.
Is there a way to use a different sound for playback without changing the effective instrument metadata that gets uploaded to musescore.com? For example, this score is for voice and piano:
but because I changed the sound for the Voice instrument to Oboe (in the Mixer), musescore.com says the piece is for Oboe and Piano. Since I much prefer the sound of other instruments to the synthesized voice sounds, I'd like to keep using this feature. But I also want musescore.com to list the piece as being for Voice and Piano (and not for Oboe or whatever alternative sound I choose). Is there a way to do this?
After we launched the new Piano Roll feature, we had a lot of reported issues regarding sync.
Today, after developing a totally new algorithim, we publishd Piano Roll again.
I hope this update makes the Piano Roll more enjotable for you!
