Songbook playback

 Playing back a single voice from an SATB score on my smartphone  (Motorola 4G)....  When there are two consecutive notes of the same pitch  (of any, or different values) which are not tied, they are played back  as one note (of the total value of the notes) with no discernible break  between the two notes.  Also occurs when the two notes are separated by a  bar line.  Is there a setting I can adjust, or does it need a fix?  It  didn't happen with earlier version of Songbook. 

Can’t Log In and Page Not Found

Sometimes when I try and log in, it doesn’t work, my username and password is correct and everything, but the ‘log in’ button is grey instead of blue so I can’t log in. I try closing the tab and re opening the website but it doesn’t work.

Also, when I search up a song, sometimes it says that the page is not found and when I try refreshing or going back it still says that the page is not found. I know that the song definitely exists as I have searched it up before. Closing and reopening the tab also doesn’t work.

Why stop at 50+ ?

Why can't I get the exact total of notifications received instead of having 50+ ? (it tells me I have more than 50 notifications but I can't see the exact total, for example if I got 60 or 70 notifs or even more)

MS staff, I think it's important for us to get the precise number when there are more than 50 notifications.

Soundfont not working when uploaded

Hi,
I was trying out some soundfonts the other day, and I found that they improve the playback a lot. So I tried uploading a score I finished and added a soundfont to it (HQ orchestral 3.0). The soundfont worked while I was editing the score in musescore, but when I uploaded it, it was the stock musescore playback again. Is there anything else I need to do before or after uploading the score?

Note entry needs a triplet selector

 
I don't see how to include pictures here, or I would show you. Stay with the long description. This was a feature of a notation program that I had in 1986 on an Atari computer! (yeah, I'm *that* old)

Why not include a special "duple-triple" selector in note entry? Entering music that shifts from regular duple (eighth notes) to triplet (eighth note triplet) should be as easy as shifting from eighth note to quarter note. The current tuplet system is more awkward than it should be.

You would click on the added button to change modes.  The appearance of the button will change depending on the mode. When duple (this is how it is now) it would show two eighth notes beamed. When in triple mode it would show three eighth notes beamed. In triple mode, if you select eighth note and enter a note, it would start an eighth-note-triplet to cover one quarter note. In duple mode, the eighth note would be just as it is now. Triplet mode quarter note will start a quarter-note-triplet that covers two beats.

This is not a replacement for the current tuplet system. I only want to enhance note entry. This enhancement would make it easier to enter triplets. Other tuplets would be done with the current setup.
 

My friend is locked out, so can't write here.

My friend Gertim (@SDG) seems to be locked out of the site, so much so that he can't access other people's scores let alone log in for his own or use forums or contact forms (and email here is routinely unresponsive).  He recently un-followed a very large number of people (nothing wrong with that) and fears he triggered a spam filter. [New Feature] Email and desktop notifications and notifications settings

A few weeks ago we launched the Notifications system on MuseScore.com. We’ve been reading your positive feedback, and we’re glad you’re appreciating the new feature!

Today we’re delivering another update to the Notifications system, in three parts:

1. Notifications settings. Now you can configure what types of notifications you want to see. You can access your notifications settings from your Settings Menu or the Notification Panel. You can choose any kind of Notification and choose where you want to receive it: on the website, email or web pushes. 

2. Desktop Push Notifications. Now you can subscribe to receive Notifications via Desktop Push. It makes sure you don’t miss new notifications, even if you don’t have MuseScore.com open.

3. Email Notifications. We will send you notifications once per hour ONLY if you don’t open the Notifications panel on the website. We'll launch Email Notifications in 2 days; but for now, simply use the readily available Notifications Settings.

Enjoy the new settings! I'm looking forward to seeing how this impacts your experience with the website.

while reading is correct with Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer and on the site Musescore.com

Improving customer practices

While Musescore seems a decent product, however their customer services approach is extremely rigid and unfair. I had taken a one year Pro membership an year ago, however couldn't use the account much and almost forgot about it. I realized few days ago that I have been charged for another year due to some apparent default auto-renewal option which I wasn't aware of. When I contacted about the issue, I was pointed towards some T&Cs hidden somewhere in the contract when you sign up for the membership and was refused the payment. 

When I cancelled the account the system allowed it without any issues. So essentially I have paid for services which I have no access to. 

I haven't come across any reputed business that would extract money from unwilling customers for services they are not using in this manner. 

The folks behind Musescore need to think about this if they really want to build some respect for themselves in the long run. 

New Piano Roll Feature on the musescore.com

Today marks the release of MuseScore Piano Roll. Piano Roll is a popular and convenient method to display piano notation in a way that not only simplifies learning a new piece for novice musicians who lack a teacher, it also beautifully visualizes each score.

Can’t edit discussions with my iPhone

I’ve never been able to do this on my phone, but it’s gotten to the point where I’m irritated with it.
Is it just a glitch? Because whenever I hit the “edit” to edit a discussion I made, nothing happens. Just, nothing happens at all. I can do it just fine on my computer, but with my phone, it just does nothing. If it’s just like that for phones, can we please be able to edit discussions with a phone?
