Departing from MuseScore

Hey guys! Trolol here. It's been awhile. Not sure how many of the older guys from, say 2011-2015 are still on here (I've seen TPenguinLTG still posting somewhat), but I'm glad to see this place is still goin even after Mae's departure. :)

Unfortunately it is time to make my departure from this site as well. I have moved on to bigger and busier life in the music world. All my scores have been removed cuz I'll be getting rid of my pro subscription soon, but fortunately I will be compiling all my finished original work in one big score as a kind of playlist.

I want to say Thank You, to the MuseScore community, not just ya'll in this group, but as a whole. When I originally started on this site as a 13 year old (Goin on to 20!) I never could have expected such an experience. The community as a whole was very supportive of young musicians and aspiring composers. As a youngster back then, there was a lot I learned on here by conversing with fellow composers and my age on here, as well as the older, more seasoned musicians who were always willing to offer critiques and advice to my music.

I have had a blast on here getting to know all the high schooler composers from back then. I remember always being hyped for the next piece from most of the guys/gals I made friends with on here. The All-That-Is-Fantasy Discussion kept me coming back DAILY to this group; it was so much fun. Collaborating with Aaron David, Tony McCahill, Sean Greenley, and ..V.. were some of the greatest experiences I've had as a young composer.

[V, aka Evan, unfortunately passed away almost a year ago, losing his battle with chronic depression. I didn't find out till a few months ago since he disappeared in the spring of last year and I heard nothing since. He was probably the closest online friend I had on here, and will be deeply missed. :( ]

Again, I do plan on compiling all my finished, original works that I had on here in a big score kinda thing similar to Mollymawk did, as kind of an archive for my older music. Might take some time cuz I'm busy with other musical things. I also intend on making an official website for my music, since over the years things I got super disorganized on here and elsewhere xD

I'll be back soon enough with my archive. But again, thank you everyone for the great times on here. I'm glad that I was able to partake in it, and I'm honored and humbled that I made an impact with my music for some of you. And for the newer guys and gals; sorry I havent been able to get to know yall, but I do encourage thatyou continue to kick it here! It's a great community, and while it was wayyy more active on here 5 years ago or so, you can still have a good time, hear and post some awesome music and make some lasting connections.

Thanks everyone!

Hello

I’m Ryan. I’m a gay person. I’ve been in the same relationship with my spouse now for six years. I’m a self trained musician, with 25 years of experience in piano. I’m currently working on my knowledge in musical theory. Gotta give a big thanks to MuseScore for enabling me to explore the world of musical notation, arrangement, and composition. Looking foreword to hearing some of your talents and creativity. I’m excited to learn new tricks and musical phrasing's! 🤗🇨🇦

Plz help!

I just started playing alto sax last week for a summer program and I think all in all it’s an easy instrument to start off on (maybe because I have been playing clarinet for 3 years). But I am still struggling with holding it. It’s very heavy and sometimes my thumb is swollen from holding it. My friend who has been playing alto sax for 4 years says my sax is bigger than hers. I’m sure its alto because my music teacher gave it to me and I can’t switch it out for a different one. Does anyone have any tips on how to hold the sax? Thxxx and I appreciate it- Flutinetist ^~^

GuitarTuna

This is a nice app. I use it to tune my guitar. It’s very helpful as accurate. This app also has options to tune other instruments like a violin. And for I think $10, you can get these little fun guitar chord related games, that help teach you the guitar.

Overall, great app. And I highly recommend it.

Newb question about artwork

Greetings all INFP members. I just joined, trusting an old frog like me can be INFP, too.
I was encouraged by some of the good music here and thought I'd park some of my Emily Dickinson song cycle here as well as a few selections of one of my ballet scores.
I am impressed by the art work many of you embellish your work with. I am concerned about copyright infringement in my own searches. For example on a dance number "Frog Prince"  I would like a likeness of a frog prince, but everything seems to be in copyright, including ballerinas and action photos. And how does one find or contact the owners? Phooey. There is a "public domain ballet art" site, but what is there is dull.
Any suggestions?

Almost reached 50 follower milestone

If you don't know already, I am now almost at 50 followers. Currently I have 39 followers so just 11 more and I will have reached the 50 follower mark. I had maybe like 4 followers 2 years ago. So clearly, I'm doing something right. My most recent score called The Storm just brought me 2 more followers. I suppose they followed me hoping to someday see the entire suite that I plan on The Storm being a part of. That suite I call Weather Music. Maybe I should compose another part of the suite for that 50 followers mark, upload it when I reach 50 followers, and then whenever I have finished the suite, upload it in its entirety.

If you want to listen to what I have so far of The Storm, here it is:

It just so happens that I have been getting rain for 3 days straight here in Ohio.

Update 1: 6/18/2019

Oh my goodness, 4 followers in a single day. That is a record for me, I am now at 43 followers. I don't know if the follower milestone or finishing the composition will come first. If the follower count does come first, that's fine. I'm not pushing myself to finish the 50 follower composition.

So I had to kick a member (Indy500) for spamming a link to an unsecure website. Sorry, but spam for no purpose is not tolerated.

Okay then, I started a discussion trying to get to 1k comments, and I thought it would fail. As I am writing this, Lizzapie, Mnmwert, Vash Hartman, and myself are spamming to get it to 1k. It's already at like 150 or something (every 2 minutes I refresh and I have 10+ notifications lol)

Now the member count has capped out at around 1 member per day, BUT this is a random group, and I didn't really expect it to be this active.
