How many of you play the piano?
This is my first composure and if you could give me feedback on what I could do differently next time that would be amazing :)
I’m having a competition! Most voted original song gets to be played!
It doesn’t really matter what the whole thing is about. It’s just gotta be like a story... I need strings, brass, and everything. Like Peter and The Wolf, you know? Each instrument representing a different character. I don’t care what the theme is, and heck, my teacher might not like it and no one might vote— but this could be fun. He recommended me using this so I can find some great song writers.
Great emotional piece with some legendary oboe solos. Be sure to have mastered dynamic influence while going into notes, that's a key part in this song. Don't forget to breath, you'll need all the air possible for this one.
The craziest people I've ever known are double reeds. Like thinking about the strangest things for no reason, even though you have no interest in them. Maybe it's the back pressure getting to my skull.
Will let you know if I get any aneurysms lol
Hello I Just joined which I hope is okay but I play the flute and I think it's the best! And in other words I am just a Seventh Grader that plays the flute and I am just a beginner
This is my first chamber piece. Though it is an early project, it is an ambitious one. Celebrating the centenary of WW1, piece seeks to pay tribute to those who have fallen of The Great War. Any feeback would me much appreciated!
To all those who play the flute, what exactly do we call ourselves? Like people who play the clarinet are clarinetists, people who play percussion are percussionists, but what are we? Flutists? Flautists? Floutisits? Flutation devices?
we made an arrangement, based on the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps version of Drowsy Maggie.

First off, I was wondering if anyone knew any techniques to help with having a longer playing time before taking a breath or any exercises to help with breathing too much when playing. I don't have a lot of lung opacity and I take a lot of breaths. Also, when I'm playing high notes sometimes my lips sorta buzz and I thinks it's my embouchure getting too small, but I just want some feedback on that and how to help that. Thanks!
Hi I've been playing flute for about 2 years now and I'm at the intermediate level. At a band camp I went to this summer, and got my vibrato down (with help from my director and a college student) that the guy at my solo and ensemble contest said I needed to learn....But then when the college girl who was helping me said 'oh you need to learn flutter tonging' I was like 'o wat' so now I need help.
Since I am incapable of doing so myself, I am asking for someone who is skilled in the art of composition to compose a solo flute piece for "crab rave".
I have this thing whilst playing my flute and after playing a long note I take a very loud breath? What should i do? (all my friends anf family say they can hear me breathe when im doing performances!
Hiya fellow flautists,
Wondering if I could get any feedback on this Disney medley I arranged for the school flute quartet I play in. Any criticisms great appreciated xx
I finally finished what has, up until now, been known as 'Percussion Driven Work in Progress (End of Day ________)'. It's called 'The War Continues' and at seven minutes fifty seconds, it is the third longest piece I've composed and is most definitely by far the most complex. I tried to use flutes to bring in a lighter feeling amid the darkness in certain areas.
I want to say thank you to everyone who gave me feedback and advice--it REALLY helped.
'The War Continues'
Hey, I know this is a really weird question, but does anyone else have a problem where your face and hands get tingles/ pins and needles while plying the flute???
Because that happens to me sometimes in band
