Need advice about the bassoon

You may or may not know this but I am arranging the Pathetique Sonata for a symphony orchestra. I have gotten to the second Grave section and the notes reach the very lowest register of the bassoon. Before I get too deep into it, I need some advice about the bassoon, preferably from someone who plays the bassoon.

Can the bassoon play pianissimo in its lowest register? Because the last note of the Grave section that I would put in the bassoon part is a B natural below the bass staff. I know the bassoon can be very mellow sounding but can B natural below the bass staff be played pianissimo? If not, then I will just have that note played by the double basses and notate it up an octave from where it is in the piano score to get the desired pitch.

Hai, just a new person.

So, I am just a flute player who loves to study music theory and the baroque period of music. I have loved to make music revolving around using a mixture of woodwind and violin instruments while dabbing with Basso Continuo every once and a while. Just wondering how I upload stuff and get acquainted and all. Thanks!

Wind ensembles accompanying a solo double bass

Hello dear woodwinds,

There are pieces for double bass and wind ensembles already, but they are rather difficult to listen to, so I've been arranging two pieces originally for double bass and piano; one of them to woodwind quintet, and the other one to concert band. I've been studying woodwinds a lot so I think I've made nice parts. Please have a listen:

Notable Suggestion- Respite by David Reeves

I'm in one of the first ensembles to play the piece, and if you can get your hands on it, you need to play it. It's a very Clarinet-heavy work, with an Oboe Solo (Clarinets play a second, hidden part, so I don't know if it's a solo), A trumpet solo, a Flute solo, and a Sax Quartet. Music for a gentler time indeed...

It might not be released yet, just look for the Clinton High School Wind Ensemble's performance of it in March. It may be released, I don't know. Just keep a look out.

(If I'm way to active, let me know)
