Okay. We need to talk. About. A situation.

Fortnite. Some people like it, and some people do not. Some people think it is dead and other people think it is not.  On Musescore, more people seem to dislike Fortnite than people who enjoy it. But why must we not get along? I myself play Fortnite, because I have a lot of friends who play it , and they wanted me to try it. It does not have to be dead to hate it, and it does not have to be alive to enjoy it. Thank you for you time. Owo

Trying to write jazz

I’m trying to write a piece for a jazz band. I’ve never made jazz before in my life and have very little experience with it so I was wondering if someone could give me a little feedback on what I have to far.

Just making sure it’s not terrible ;-;

Self-introduction!!!

Hi everyone!

Since this group is about learning composition from each other, I feel that it would be great if y'all could introduce yourselves in this group so that we could better learn from each other!

Probably just mention your composition experience/why and what (and how) you compose/instruments you play/hobbies/basically anything

So i'll start...

I recently graduated from high school last year, and I've been composing since around 12 yo. I started composition seriously in high school during my 'A' level music studies. I normally compose in the classical genre, ranging from Baroque to Modern styles, and I'm still in the pursuit to find my distinct aesthetic. Also I play the piano, and clarinet (self-taught), and own a couple of other instruments (including toy instruments) :)

(since i'm admin i shall pin this thread haha)

Has anyone seen Sunshine?

It's a terribly underrated 2007 Sci-Fi film, written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle. The film bombed at the box office, which is sad, but unfortunate because this is how Boyle typically rolls. Alwin H. Küchler is incredible as Boyle's DP.

"In the not-too-distant future, Earth's dying sun spells the end for humanity. In a last-ditch effort to save the planet, a crew of eight men and women ventures into space with a device that could revive the star. However, an accident, a grave mistake and a distress beacon from a long-lost spaceship throw the crew and its desperate mission into a tailspin."

I would recommend this film to anyone who likes breathtaking cinematography, heart-pulsating music, and also social commentary.

For those of you who liked Interstellar, this film is better in my opinion, it's not only shorter, it's more beautiful, the cast fits, the score is miles better, which is saying something.

If you're not comfortable watching the film (it is pretty grim and dark, ironic because of the films title and imagery), then watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYpKHTsQUN8
and then perhaps listen to the OST, especially Kaneda's death (Adagio in D minor/major(you'll find out about that)
