Flute Duets?

I'm looking for some nice, and fairly easy, flute duets for my school's open house. Basically small duets or trios of instruments sit around different areas of the school and play, and I'm trying to find some nice flute duets that can be learned in under a week. I've found two thus far, but will need about seven or eight. If anyone has a duet they really like or want to recommend, I'd love to see what you have!

Musecorps Competition #0.1!

Just a reminder that if you're planning on submitting something for the competition, the deadline is tomorrow. A lot of you have commented, but nobody has submitted yet. Is anyone planning on submitting something? And if so, should I push the deadline back by a few days?

Thanks for any feedback!

Musecorps Competition #0!

Hello everyone! The 2018 Drum Corps season is over, and I figured it was time for me to start this group up again. Therefore, I've decided to hold the first competition that I talked about in this groups' other post!

This first competition is basically a test. It's just for fun, you could say. If enough people participate, I'll hold another one in the future, and possibly include some level of prizes. Just depends on how many people participate!

The Competition:
I thought we'd start off easy. Create a drum corps style arrangement from any piece (s) written by Ludwig van Beethoven. The arrangement should be longer than one minute in length, but no more than three. You can include percussion if you want, but just brass would be alright too! When you have something completed, post it to MuseScore and post a link to it in a comment on this post. I'll live submissions open until a week from today, Tuesday 9/18 at around 2:00 PM EST.

If you have any comments or questions, leave them below!

Hello Everyone!

This topic is about flutes. well duh. Flutes are great. So what flutes do you play or love or own or yeah!

I play PVC kontrabass flute. I made it! I love the deep haunting sound of the bass flute. I don't have much money, but when I do get enough, I will buy myself a bass flute. First, though, I have to buy myself a new french horn for band next year.

What do you play or own or love?

Tuba, which one? Which key?

in Brass

I'm not a brass player, I'm a violinist. I'm just writing for myself with MuseScore, trying to build my composition and orchestration skills. How do you decide which tuba to use in compositions? Wikipedia says that some tubas are more commonly used in UK, the other is more commonly used in US. If I ever have a real player to write for, then I'll write for that persons instrument. Until that happens, can you give me any suggestions, comments etc? (I posted one of my composition exercises , with a tube, to this group, it's the variations on Swanee river) Thanks.

What horn and what metal?

I was thinking about trying to get money to buy a new, professional horn, and I was wondering what kind of horns are the best. I know that the Berlin Phil plays on Alexander 103s, and they always seem to get good reviews, so I would definitely look at those, but I also know that there are other fantastic instruments and the Alexander might not be the best fit for me. Right now I play a Holton H179, and it works quite well for me, but I have college auditions next year and then college itself, and I think that a better horn would be beneficial.

I was looking online at alexander 103s, just for fun, and I saw that there are several different metals that they use. Each has its pros and cons, but I couldn't find which most people prefer.

If it helps at all, I prefer playing high horn (1st or 3rd).

Range?

Hello there! I was wondering about what everyone's range was. I am so self conscious that I have a tiny range. I also find that for big concerts where we play 10-12 pieces I can barely hit high notes at the end. I was looking for tips on how to expand range and build better endurance. Anything will help!
