Hi there. This is my first discussion here but it’s a game. If you know the rules of word chain then great, but I’ll explain for the others. If I said “hello” then you would have to say something beginning with O
Rules. No swears No made up words Only one word Have fun
A friend and I are seniors in high school and we have a band. I play alto saxophone and he plays drum set. We have played at basketball games, in school concerts, and background music at various school events. Our next (and possibly last) performance is going to be at our graduation, so obviously we want it to be our best performance yet. Our problem is we cannot seem to find a good song/songs to play. We are looking for something fast, upbeat, and fun. Somewhere between 3 to 15 minutes would be perfect. Some of the songs we have played before include: Shipping Up To Boston, Megalovania, Blue (Da Ba Dee), 300 Violin Orchestra, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Eye Of The Tiger, ect. Hopefully that gives you a good idea of the type of music we enjoy playing.
Any song suggestions would be very helpful. Also, if you have any other places I could post this question please let me know. Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone gives.
I decided to revisit one of my older string quartet arrangements. As you can probably guess, it is the K 545 sonata. This time, I had a harmonic analysis to help me stay more true to the original harmony. I decided, for now at least, to have the sixteenths in the second movement be played by the second violin. The countermelody method that I went right for in my first draft is tricky, especially to keep consonant with both the melody and the harmony. So, as I try to figure out a good countermelody, I have the sixteenth notes in the second violin in this draft. Hopefully, I will figure out a good countermelody so that I can put the sixteenth notes into the viola, and not have to do octave alterations as you can see I did in certain places in the second movement. Until then though, the sixteenths will be in the second violin, with the viola harmonizing the bass line.
Here is the second draft of my string quartet arrangement of K545:
It would be nice to see organ voicings/stop settings on more scores. If using GrandOrgue or Hauptwerk, the organ selected and its stops would be interesting.
As someone just starting my journey with pipe organs, it would be helpful to hear how others select which stops are used in absence of marked directions from the composer or when the recommended stop is not available.
I really want to play Netflix trip for my school talent show. but there is no marching band or concert band version of it. i f someone could help me find one or compose one for me plz. It would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I recently completed two movementa of a classical suite that I am currently composing for the String Orchestra. I intend to play it in my school's String Ensemble in the future. Any feedback and thoughts are deeply appreciated. Thank you!
