I wanted to post a quick note and to say hello. I have recently joined the MuseScore team and you will certainly see me around jumping into discussions here and there and answering any questions you guys might have.
I wanted to make a specific point of dropping in this group and getting to know you guys and seeing how I might be able to support and see if we can spread the word to other drum corps fans and make this group the top resource out there for all things drum corps.
I've been a drum corps fan since I was a kid. I went to my first show when I was 12 and was instantly hooked. I was lucky enough to go on to march, even though my main instrument is bassoon. I first auditioned for SCV on bari, but didn't make the line. I kept at it, auditioned again and again until I finally made Blue Devils hornline and then later spent a couple years as drum major for the corps. After aging out, I went on to work with Crossmen and Cadets, and remain a fan until this day.
I am excited about being a part of the MuseScore community and look forward to becoming more actively involved (especially in the drum corps and marching music communities!!). I would love to hear your thoughts or ideas on how MuseScore could become the ideal resource for drum corps fans and the top community for marching music.
i recently made an arrangement from ravels piano trio and im curious of what you guys think of it leave a like and add comments of what you would do. its not done yet and i need a lot of battery parts
I would love some assistance on ideas, theme, and overall just making an amazing unique show.
Ive already contacted other users to make shows, but I decided to see if any one is up to the task!
Some selections of songs I had in mind(Of course not all of them):
Ride the Lightning - Metallica
Rooster - Alice in Chains
Hey Jude - The Beatles (Trumpet screaming ideas?)
Mama, I'm comin' home - Ozzy
Paper Cut - Alex Shapiro
The Cave You Fear - Michael Markowski
Ride - Sam R. Hazo
Mars - Gustav Holst (SCV 12)
Piano Concerto Mvt. 4 - John Corigliano (Pr 06 and SCV 2015 Closer)
Medea - Bartok (Star of Indiana 93 or Crown 16)
Canyon - Phillip Glass (SCV 1999 and Warm Up)
One - Metallica
Dreams 3 (Visions) - Bertrand Moren (Crown 2012 Closer)
I still have no theme set in stone yet. I'm also not that great at writing battery.
I'm good with Pit percussion, Brass, and Electronic sounds.
If you have any interest of joining the band wagon, and/or shooting some of you ideas, send me a message, I usually always respond asap!
Im trying to transcribe Funkafried by the Bottom Line, or the 09 Academy Contra line. Im in need of some assistance with some of the solo parts and the fast parts, please message me if you want to help!
Does anyone know how to change the tenor drum sound because the isn't any sound on the shot drum or on drum 4. Any help would be appreciated.
I have arranged a couple of pieces for a DBC style show based on Les Miserables. It is all a work in progress, but I would love critique and collaboration. I definitely need percussion parts. Feel free to look and let me know if you want to work on it.
Hello, I'd be willing to write some pit parts for someone's score. I am fairly new to musescore but I know the basics. I'm a percussionist and am very good with chord structure. Please reply if you'd be interested and/or email me here if you have any questions: email@example.com

Anyone want to do a collaboration on a DCI show this summer? I have written plenty of shows and just finished 2 stand tunes for my High School Marching Band. I have done a collab with musescore before and it was pretty smooth. hmu of you would like to. I am good at arranging pieces and work good with all instruments.
I need somebody to help transcribe the Drumline and Pit for my transcription of the Cavaliers' 2014 show Immortal. The entire brass score is finished, I just need people willing to transcribe in the percussion parts
I have most of the rack part and I have all the percussion in the Dance Macabre section done
The score- https://musescore.com/user/357766/scores/4100606
There are GoPro cams online of the run-throughs of Snare, Tenor, Bass 3, Bass 5 and 2 Marimbas on YouTube, but i don't know how to put heard drum rhythms onto paper so to speak.
If anybody wants to help, leave a comment of any sections/instruments you'd be willing to do
Hi! I'm Jack and the title says it all. I'm primarily looking for a DCI-style of writer to work with, but I'd be more than willing to work on marching band pieces as well! A drumline writer and an experienced brass writer would be much appreciated.
Hey! If anyone needs a battery writer, hit me up! I am currently working on an indoor show and would love to write parts for you! If you would like a sample, shoot me a message through musecore!
Over the next year, Indiana Storm Productions will be putting a Indoor Winds group out and then in 2019 planning on fielding a Junior Open Class Corps. The plans are for 32 brass, 14 field percussion, 14 guard and 5+ pit. We will be needing a percussion arranger looking to make a mark upon the drum corps scene. Over the first 3 years, the corps will hopefully grow to full sized as finances and membership permit. If you are interested, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The organizational website is at http://indianastorm.net/. We are starting to pull our staff together early so that we may have time to discuss programmatic issues.
Hi! I've been transcribing drum corps shows for a bit under a year now. I've always had a problem with transcribing percussion, however. I can somewhat manage to transcribe front ensemble parts sometimes, but I'm mostly lost with snare/tenor/bass parts. If anyone can help me transcribe parts for any of my shows, that'd be great! I'm looking for people who either play percussion and/or are experienced with writing/transcribing perc parts.
If you do send me percussion parts, I'll obviously credit you on the score.
The five shows I have that I'd like to have full percussion scores for at some point are:
Carolina Crown 2010 - A Second Chance
Carolina Crown 2015 - Inferno
Carolina Crown 2016 - Relentless
The Academy 2016 - Drum Corpse Bride
The Cadets 2016 - Awakening
All five scores are in my spotlight, if you'd like to view them. As a last note, I'm sure to transcribe more shows in the future, and I'd love help with those too.
Thanks! Leave a comment or send me a message if you're interested.
Hey, all! Please check out my drum corps field show entitled Infinity! Here's the link:
Let me know what I need to work on and what I can do to improve it. This is my first drum corps show, so I'm not great, but any comments and suggestions would be more than welcome! Thanks! Have an awesome day! ;)
