I am currently writing a show right now. I'm finished with the first two movements and would appreciate if someone wanted to write a percussion book for it! Message me for details.
I need another fellow brass writer and a front ensemble writer! Please comment if your interested!!
Pieces for the show:
Music of the Spheres - Phillip Sparke
Year of the Dragon - Phillip Sparke
Mother Earth Fanfare - David Maslanka
Requim for Band - Quincy Hilliard

Please help me and a friend out! Thanks!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTpGF6otM1Q It's called Breadfan and our band loves the song so much that our band teacher, he errrr banned (or band, if i wanted to be punny) the song. So he took away the song from us and we don't have the music for it. Some of the best players remember it, but most forgot. So it would be appreciated if someone could bring our lovely breadfan back to us so we can be happy yet again because we hate our band teacher and vice versa and we want our breadfan back.
I'm looking for some good source music for a marching show that I'm going to be starting here pretty soon. If you have any ideas please contact me. If you want to help or join my team that would be great as well. It's a plus if you live in Central Texas (Austin) so that we can collab pretty often and closely.
I already have ideas for my show starting with:
- Either a 3 or 4 movement show
Some pieces I'm thinking of using come from the following composers:
- David R. Gillingham
- Gustav Holst
- David Beidenbender
- Alan Hovhaness
- Ivan Trevino
Just curious how many of y’all are getting ready for drum corps auditions? Or if you’ve already auditioned how’d it go? Where are you going to march? Maybe we can meet up over the summer (probably not but you never know)
I’ll be on the road once again with the Blue Devils for my age out
Welcome to my new group. Any ideas or if you need any help please ask.
2018 is turning out to be a pretty amazing year. So many groups are SO SO good!
Who are your favorites so far this season?
Who do you think is most improved this year compared to last?
Can someone please make me some easy sheet music for Sweet Home Chicago. Like grade 1 or grade 2 music. I really need it for school. Please
Do I need to learn Stevens grip for drum corps (namely Columbians)?
Its the same as trombone but im lookin for solos
Hello, I've been having a recurring idea about an opening of a show that uses the song "Pure Imagination" for marching band and I want to know if anyone had ideas for a trumpet duo or a trumpet and alto sax duo for a show before a big hit. I wanted to have a big hit after the lyrics "there's nothing to it"
Hey there! For some unknown reason, my MuseScore Drumline Extension quit a few days ago, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both MuseScore and MuseScore Drumline. It will not play—even when I'm adding the notes in on the software—and there's no playback. I didn't do anything to make it stop working, but maybe I can keep trying to reinstall it and see if it works. If anyone has a similar problem, please let me know as soon as possible. I have a huge drumline project due, and if MuseScore Drumline does not work, I won't know what to do.
I don't know about other people who use MDL but I think it would be great if cymbals had more options than just the six that are there. Some good ones would be:
- Crash chokes
- Hi Hat
- Tap chokes
- Sizzle sucks (also called splash chokes, sizz-ucks)
Examples of most of these are demonstrated in these videos:
Is there any chance that we can get more cymbal sounds in future updates of MDL?
I was curious if there was a way to make a gock shot using the new MDL
I am working on an arrangement of "Highlights from 'The Wizard of Oz'" for my percussion ensemble. It is linked in the sheet music section of the group.
Feel free to leave any feedback so I can improve my piece.
Have a great day!
I am currently working on a project that sounds more like a soundtrack than a classical piece, and I have no experience with percussion instruments. Does anyone know of a good resource to familiarize myself with the different percussion instruments and their uses in an orchestra, especially as it related to soundtrack music? I know what I want the percussion in the score to sound like but I do not know the best instruments to use to make those sounds.
Any help is appreciated!
would love to preset automatic sticking, for CMD/T shortcut
