Lack of Music for Tenor Saxaphone
Has anyone else noticed the sheet music is really lacking in the Tenor section for single instrument pieces?

The Sky ISN'T the Limit.. Your Mindset Is
Wassup y'all.. This is a just message to all the arrangers/composers in this group no matter what age, race or gender. I just wanted to remind you to keep grinding & improving. There's always going to be room for improvement, no matter how "good" or "bad" you are at what you do. Even though I may not know most of you we all have one thing in common: a love for music. It's amazing how much love we all share for music because music can literally change lives.. it changed mine. Before music I felt like I didn't have a purpose. I'd join clubs and play sports but I never truly felt at home. This was until I joined band my 8th grade year & my life began to change for the better. Since then I knew that music is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, particularly band. I've grown a lot over the past years playing wise and arranging wise & I'm even drum major now for my high school. But saying all this to say, never give up on your dreams despite all the negative encounters that may come your way. I believe everyone has a purpose in this world & ours is to make the world a better place through MUSIC. Sounds corny but that's just what I truly believe & I'm positive that all of you are gonna be something in the future. Keep up the good work man & always remember that the sky ISN'T the limit, but your mindset is. Stay blessed family.

Using [Basic] Counterpoint for Strings, and Starting Out
Writing for strings can be a difficult process and there are so many variables whenever you delve into writing for string players. This strategy may help with some problems, but not all problems will be fixed automatically.
Use counterpoint to help add to your melodies. Keep in mind that you need to be acquainted with counterpoint and counterpoint isn't always easy. If you need help with counterpoint, I'll give you some advice.
- Whenever you have only one line [melody], use the following intervals: Unison, major/minor seconds, Major/minor thirds, Perfect fourths/fifths (watch out and don't use fifths more than once), Major/minor sixths, Octaves or perfect eights... Notice there aren't any Dissonant or augmented values [you're allowed to write them If you don't want strict counterpoint]!
- If you have two voices and want to make each voice singable, be sure to use the following intervals: Unison, Major/minor thirds, Perfect fifths [watch out for paralles] (fourths make it harder for your singers), Major/minor sixths, and Octaves/perfect eights... Notice there aren't any Dissonant or augmented values [you're allowed to write them If you don't want strict counterpoint]!
That's all you need to know. Start with writing for solo instead of a duet. After you learned a little more about counterpoint from that; Write one (more) solo for viola. Afterwards, write a duet piece for any 2 string instruments; Follow the advice for singable voices.
NOTE: THIS ISN'T ALL THERE IS TO COUNTERPOINT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE, GO TO THIS VIDEO SERIES ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/JcqrGLvs95M?list=PLA660D90FB432BD69. TURN UP YOUR VOLUME CAUSE IT'S A BIT SILENT.

HELP!!!
Ok, so I know that this is a marching band group and some of you are going to hate me for this, but I am legit desperate for help on a concert band arrangement.
I'm writing a piece for concert band (it's an eighth grade band, so the music isn't too complex). It's an arrangement of music from the album Adele 21.
We have 3 percussionists, and I only have 2 percussion parts written: xylophone and drumset (One of our percussionists has been playing drumset for a long time and I wanted to write a piece that could showcase that). I really need another percussion part, but as I've never played percussion, I am not exactly knowledgeable in this field. Does anyone have any tips for adding another percussion part in a concert band piece?
(Again, don't hate me for posting this on a marching band group)
Thanks :)

Senior Show
So next year will be my senior year of high school and I'd like to compile the big pit moments from each of the past three shows that I have performed into a sort of lot piece. I have been trying to figure out a good way to do it, but I've been unsuccessful so far. If anybody would be interested in helping me out, please let me know. I really want to surprise my section with something like this.

"Fake Time"
About a year ago I was playing percussion in my school's production of My Fair Lady. I don't remember which song this was in, but at one point the percussion score-- and I believe it was only the percussion score-- had the marking "fake time". I have not seen this marking anywhere else, and no one, not even google, seems to know what it means (When I asked my director what it meant, he said "you're a percussionist, it's what you've been doing this whole time. Music directors are mean...) To me, it seems like it would be synonymous with "free time", but that seems like an odd thing to have in one part of a theatrical score. Has anyone on here seen this marking before? If so, how was it interpreted? If not, how would you interpret it?
