Wassup y'all.. This is a just message to all the arrangers/composers in this group no matter what age, race or gender. I just wanted to remind you to keep grinding & improving. There's always going to be room for improvement, no matter how "good" or "bad" you are at what you do. Even though I may not know most of you we all have one thing in common: a love for music. It's amazing how much love we all share for music because music can literally change lives.. it changed mine. Before music I felt like I didn't have a purpose. I'd join clubs and play sports but I never truly felt at home. This was until I joined band my 8th grade year & my life began to change for the better. Since then I knew that music is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, particularly band. I've grown a lot over the past years playing wise and arranging wise & I'm even drum major now for my high school. But saying all this to say, never give up on your dreams despite all the negative encounters that may come your way. I believe everyone has a purpose in this world & ours is to make the world a better place through MUSIC. Sounds corny but that's just what I truly believe & I'm positive that all of you are gonna be something in the future. Keep up the good work man & always remember that the sky ISN'T the limit, but your mindset is. Stay blessed family.
It seems I'm now advertising another new group. (Well, technically, the group I'm about to advertise isn't "new," but nobody besides me has joined it yet at the time of this writing.) The Musescorer Enochulous has made a group called "Genesis Games Music Team" (link here: https://musescore.com/groups/1892176) and is looking for composers and/or other music department members to help him create and share music for some games he is planning on making. (As far as I can tell, right now he's working on one called ZeroBlade Run.) If you're interested in composing for a video game, I recommend you check it out.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
I have just created a new group called "Community Remix Competitions." In this group, you can enter contests where you have to arrange other Musescorers' music within certain restrictions. If you want to learn more, here's a link: https://musescore.com/groups/remixcomp
give me feedback and advice on my arrangements please
I have a song for a percussion chamber ensemble. I plan for it to be played live but need some opinions and advice on it first. Please comment and tell me what you think of the score and read the description to see what it's about. Please enjoy and I'll soon post a Expert-Level Mallet quartet.
Ok, so I know that this is a marching band group and some of you are going to hate me for this, but I am legit desperate for help on a concert band arrangement.
I'm writing a piece for concert band (it's an eighth grade band, so the music isn't too complex). It's an arrangement of music from the album Adele 21.
We have 3 percussionists, and I only have 2 percussion parts written: xylophone and drumset (One of our percussionists has been playing drumset for a long time and I wanted to write a piece that could showcase that). I really need another percussion part, but as I've never played percussion, I am not exactly knowledgeable in this field. Does anyone have any tips for adding another percussion part in a concert band piece?
(Again, don't hate me for posting this on a marching band group)
I am writing a marching band show and i need an arranger to write quality pit and battery parts. Contact me if interested.
So next year will be my senior year of high school and I'd like to compile the big pit moments from each of the past three shows that I have performed into a sort of lot piece. I have been trying to figure out a good way to do it, but I've been unsuccessful so far. If anybody would be interested in helping me out, please let me know. I really want to surprise my section with something like this.
How do I post my scores to the group?

About a year ago I was playing percussion in my school's production of My Fair Lady. I don't remember which song this was in, but at one point the percussion score-- and I believe it was only the percussion score-- had the marking "fake time". I have not seen this marking anywhere else, and no one, not even google, seems to know what it means (When I asked my director what it meant, he said "you're a percussionist, it's what you've been doing this whole time. Music directors are mean...) To me, it seems like it would be synonymous with "free time", but that seems like an odd thing to have in one part of a theatrical score. Has anyone on here seen this marking before? If so, how was it interpreted? If not, how would you interpret it?
Does anyone know how to get the suspended cymbal sound in musescore.
Im currently writing a marching show and im in desperate need of a pit and battery arranger to write quality parts. Please contact me if interested.
