Exactly as the title implies, I’d like for people to bounce their ideas for marching band shows off of me. I’m a high school junior trained in percussion and various string instruments, and have a private teacher actively teaching me theory. It won’t be overnight, but I plan to write something like a show for my school’s marching band before my time there is done.
I'm a marching percussion arranger (with an emphasis in front ensemble) who's open to writing for field shows. As of now I do it purely for free as a pastime, so if you would like to collaborate then message me! :)
I am currently writing a show right now. (Just for fun) I'm finished with the first two movements and would appreciate if someone wanted to write a percussion book for it! Message me for details.
we have been member of the MuseScore family for a while and are gonna add some cool licks and compositions.
We will add them to this group too, so check them out and let us know what you think of them!
Our goal is to #ShareTheTradition of rudimental drumming; traditional and modern.
Welcome to my new group. Any ideas or if you need any help please ask.
Hey there! For some unknown reason, my MuseScore Drumline Extension quit a few days ago, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both MuseScore and MuseScore Drumline. It will not play—even when I'm adding the notes in on the software—and there's no playback. I didn't do anything to make it stop working, but maybe I can keep trying to reinstall it and see if it works. If anyone has a similar problem, please let me know as soon as possible. I have a huge drumline project due, and if MuseScore Drumline does not work, I won't know what to do.
I don't know about other people who use MDL but I think it would be great if cymbals had more options than just the six that are there. Some good ones would be:
- Crash chokes
- Hi Hat
- Tap chokes
- Sizzle sucks (also called splash chokes, sizz-ucks)
Examples of most of these are demonstrated in these videos:
Is there any chance that we can get more cymbal sounds in future updates of MDL?
I was curious if there was a way to make a gock shot using the new MDL
I am working on an arrangement of "Highlights from 'The Wizard of Oz'" for my percussion ensemble. It is linked in the sheet music section of the group.
Feel free to leave any feedback so I can improve my piece.
Have a great day!
I am currently working on a project that sounds more like a soundtrack than a classical piece, and I have no experience with percussion instruments. Does anyone know of a good resource to familiarize myself with the different percussion instruments and their uses in an orchestra, especially as it related to soundtrack music? I know what I want the percussion in the score to sound like but I do not know the best instruments to use to make those sounds.
Any help is appreciated!
would love to preset automatic sticking, for CMD/T shortcut
I really love mdl but i really want the new sounds to be added and I dont think we have gotten an update since about a week after it came out
In the space of 2 quarter notes am attempting to write a 7 note tuplet for a snare part that matches up with a quarter note triplet on a bass part. It's a little off. The Ctrl 3 and Ctrl 7 functions work but the results don't match. I can play it but the music doesn't match up. Any help is appreciated.
So, I can't write music and the mellophone section wants a fanfare. Can someone write on for me? BTW there's two of us.
I want to know which marimbas brands do you prefer. But -something more important- why do you prefer them?
I'm helping someone write an Indoor Percussion Show about Nuclear Fallout. I'm looking for a good speech (preferably a presidential speech) that i can use audio clips of after the fallout. Any ideas? Much appreciated!
good evening guys, my name is Wellington, Famuta's band director from Brazil, and I would really like a 10-minute field show from ABBA . Can you help me?
