DM Dokuro VS Charlie Debnam (read description)

So, if any of you play terraria, you should probably know that there are some neat mods out there.  Even better though?  The soundtracks.  The Music.
So, I was wondering, since some people have been comparing Charlie Debnam (a great composer) to DM Dokuro (also a great composer), I wanted to see which one you guys think is better.  So, I selected a song from each one that had a similar theme, and put the links below.
If you vote Charlie Debnam, say CD.
If you vote DM Dokuro, say DD.
Make sure you listen to each track, but be sure you have time, because both are about 10-12 minutes.

Game for Markiplier

I'm thinking about making a game for my favorite YouTuber, Markiplier. It's going to be an RPG sort of thing. If anyone wants to help or make some scores for it, that'd be fantastic. You will get credit, and if I make it monetary, you'll get a portion of the funds. If you want to help, comment or dm.

How to convert music from the DS games into MIDI (tutorial)

This is something I've always wanted to do, and I've recently done some research and have successfully converted a music file from Pokemon White 2 (originally in the 2sf format) into MIDI, edited it in a MIDI editor, and imported that MIDI into Musescore. The results of that will be posted on my account soon.

There are only two things you really need in order to do this yourself:
VGMTrans (https://github.com/vgmtrans/vgmtrans)
A rom of the game you want to rip music from

But some things can make it easier:
An actual MIDI editor - such as MidiEditor (http://midieditor.org)
A digital audio workstation - I recommend LMMS, which is free, though any that can import MIDI is fine (http://lmms.io - download the latest beta, as it is more stable and functional)
Soundfonts from the game you're ripping music from - you'll have to look these up yourselves, but I somehow got the soundfonts from nearly every Pokemon game before Gen 6 and I don't know where to find them again
A truckload of patience, and intimate knowledge of the music

Here is the process I went through:
First, obtain the rom. I won't go into detail, but if it makes you feel any better, I do own a copy of White 2. And whatever you do, never download a .exe.
Download VGMTrans off GitHub, then extract the folder and go to binary -> VGMTrans.exe.
Drag the .nds file from the rom into VGMTrans' window.
Wait.
You should see a list of all the music from the game at the bottom. You can preview any of them with the play button in the top left corner, which is useful, as the files are probably cryptically named and might be pretty disorganized.
When you find the music you want to convert, right click it and select "Save as MIDI and DLS."
Congrats, this is only the first step.
Now, you could just pop it into Musescore and try to make sense of it, but there will probably be many problems; in my case, a pickup measure shifted all the notes a sixteenth note to the right, meaning triplets were ruined.
I recommend first opening it in a DAW (like LMMS) and piecing it together with a workspace that is more suited to the task (File -> Import in LMMS). LMMS is still limited in its function, however - for example, program changes are not detected. That's what MidiEditor is for, finding all the hidden gimmicks the devs might have pulled.
The soundfonts can allow you to match up the notes with what you know of the music.
After you're satisfied with the work in the DAW, export it in MIDI format (File -> Export MIDI in LMMS) and then open it in Musescore.
It will still be a mess, but at least you can attempt to copy and paste the parts into a separate score without worrying about adding instruments or breaking triplets.
And what you do with it is up to you! Clean up the score, or copy and paste separate parts to study the techniques the composers use, rearrange it - personally, this opens a lot of doors for me. I'm excited to see what you think of this, and what you might do with it.

Variations on "Your Best Friend"- COLLABORATIVE PROJECT!

So, I had this idea going through my head- why don't we, the composers of MuseScore, collaborate on a "theme and variations" piece? People who want to collaborate to this piece will be given a month to add a variation of a theme that I have chosen to the overall piece. Once the month is over, every variation (including a few of my own that I create) will be compiled, an outro will be added to the piece, and I will submit the piece to be performed by my school string orchestra. Doesn't this sound exciting? :) (This is open to all of MuseScore, BTW)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW IT WILL WORK-
I have already chosen the theme that everyone will be working with- Flowey's theme, "Your Best Friend" from Undertale. (plz no hate, thx). I have also already made an intro, arranged the theme, and have added a variation of my own to the piece.

YOU (the composers of MuseScore) have until 8/31/2019 to come up with an up to 5-minute variation of your own to add to the score. (The score can be accessed here- https://musescore.com/user/5088096/scores/5664927)

Once you have created your variation(s) and are ready to add it/them to the score, you have 3 ways to submit it-
1. Post a comment on the score (or on this thread) linking the variation to me.
2. Message me through MuseScore with the link (file?).
3. (most recommended) Email me at tornadodog33@gmail.com with your link or MuseScore file. (DO NOT SPAM ME, HARRASS ME, OR COME TO ME WITH UNSOLICITED OFFERS. I WILL FLAG YOU AND REPORT YOU.)

Once your variation is in my hands, I MAY OR MAY NOT edit it so that it is clear, readable, involves enough members of the orchestra, and so that it links up with the preceding and forthcoming variations. I also will add some of my own variations to the piece.
Once the deadline is past, I WILL NOT accept any more variations to the piece. This is when I finalize the variations, add an outro, and submit the piece to be considered for performance. All people who entered their variations will be credited (person to variation- if you made the variation, you will be credited on that variation.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RULES FOR ENTRY-
1. DO NOT ADD ANY MORE INSTRUMENTS. This piece is for a string orchestra with a piano and 4 percussionists (1 mallet, 3 untuned)- NO MORE. I will not accept you adding any more instruments (i.e. woodwind, brass, keyboards/synths, more percussion lines, etc.) to the score. At the very most, I MAY allow you to add ONE *OPTIONAL* woodwind or brass instrument (or solo voice) that can be replaced by an instrument that I have already placed in the score (string or piano). Any more than that, and I WILL NOT accept it until you rewrite your variation so it fits in the already-existing score format.

2. KEEP IT PLAYABLE. I intend this piece to be played by real human beings, who have limitations that a computer doesn’t. Therefore, PLEASE, for the love of GOD, don’t give me a bunch of string block chords or insane 128th-note passages that would SHREAD someone’s fingers if they even attempted to play it. That is an absolute NO-NO, and I will not accept your variation until you get serious and give me something that’s actually GOOD.

3. IF YOU MAKE A VARIATION, LET ME KNOW. I have ways of finding out if you purposely tried to hide your variation and pass the entire piece off as your own. And if I find out that you intentionally tried to violate MY copyright, I WILL DEMAND that MuseScore take down your piece. (However, I can understand if you merely forgot, or problems came up with you sending it to me. But, if I find a variation that wasn’t sent to me, I WILL assume that you tried to hide it intentionally, until I find out otherwise.)
