Any of my kind present?
Hello, I need help. I'm new to this website, and I'm looking for how to compose your own music... can someone help me or guide me to that?
Hi everyone this is Qudrat Wasefi a Trumpet player that is a thousand miles away in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is war-torn and partly destroyed.
I am from a country where you can not dream to be musician in such society.
We're so hopeless that even we are accepting this ridiculous thing that looks at the way world is in the 21th century, but our environment is still in the middle ages, so sorry for that.
by the way could you guys help me with the Trumpet addition solos and pieces?
What pieces have you recently played? and are working on now?
Its the same as trombone but im lookin for solos
okay so i play saxophone and have wanted to play clarinet for a while and i literally just bought one like two weeks ago, i feel like i would fit in well with my school's junior high band but does anyone have any tips for a beginner?
I am looking for help on a Bruno Mars ballad that may or may not be marched for a high school band. I've gotten all lot of the structure down I just need help with details! I'm a percussionist so it's pretty difficult lol I'm having someone help write the mallet parts and I'll probably do the battery but I just need help with a lot of the winds. Much love :)
Just a reminder that if you're planning on submitting something for the competition, the deadline is tomorrow. A lot of you have commented, but nobody has submitted yet. Is anyone planning on submitting something? And if so, should I push the deadline back by a few days?
Thanks for any feedback!
Hello everyone! The 2018 Drum Corps season is over, and I figured it was time for me to start this group up again. Therefore, I've decided to hold the first competition that I talked about in this groups' other post!
This first competition is basically a test. It's just for fun, you could say. If enough people participate, I'll hold another one in the future, and possibly include some level of prizes. Just depends on how many people participate!
I thought we'd start off easy. Create a drum corps style arrangement from any piece (s) written by Ludwig van Beethoven. The arrangement should be longer than one minute in length, but no more than three. You can include percussion if you want, but just brass would be alright too! When you have something completed, post it to MuseScore and post a link to it in a comment on this post. I'll live submissions open until a week from today, Tuesday 9/18 at around 2:00 PM EST.
If you have any comments or questions, leave them below!
Im a multi instrumentalist (woodwind, brass, pizzicato strings, keyboards) but my main instrument is trombone and i am a jazz trombonist. I am looking for a good song to arrange with trombone as melody, piano, drums, bass, maybe guitar, maybe vibes. Any good ideas? The O.G. song doesn't have to have a trombone
My mom says I'm going to have to play the Contro Alto Bass Clarinet in December. I just started playing the B flat clarinet in August or September of 2017, do you guys think I SHOULD skip the bass clarinet and start playing a 5 foot Contro Alto Bass clarinet so soon like that? Especially since I'm barely intermediate level on the B flat clarinet AND been playing the B flat clarinet for barely a year now! She says it will help get me a scholarship for college if I play it cause not many people play the Contro Alto bass clarinet.
My band director is soon returning from maternity leave, and I was thinking about playing a piece with some friends to welcome her back. My group consists of 1 clarinet, 3 flutes, 1 trumpet, 1 tuba and a few others willing to play if a chance arises. (Euphonium, Percussionist and trombone) Help me!
Is it just me or is the group at a stalement? It only to me a few seconds to reach comments from 7 years ago. I play clarinet btw.
Hi! Has anyone some interesting clarinet solos that they would like to share with me?
Here is my arrangement for brass quintet of Attila ouverture by Giuseppe Verdi
I'm not a brass player, I'm a violinist. I'm just writing for myself with MuseScore, trying to build my composition and orchestration skills. How do you decide which tuba to use in compositions? Wikipedia says that some tubas are more commonly used in UK, the other is more commonly used in US. If I ever have a real player to write for, then I'll write for that persons instrument. Until that happens, can you give me any suggestions, comments etc? (I posted one of my composition exercises , with a tube, to this group, it's the variations on Swanee river) Thanks.
Talk about tenor tubas.
I play 14 how many in total do all of you play?
