Our mission is to help those striving to become a composer for the Marimba and other mallet instruments and to perfect their playing on the Marimba if they are a learner.

2020 with perfect vision It is clear what is in store, and I don't mean grocery store.
2019 back from distant lands, I am not doing contests but any member may start one here especially if the are giving away money prizes or free bananas.
2019 not running any contests anymore, ran out of banana prizes, sorry take the time to compose something silly
2016 begin again another year, more silliness, musescore discussions, contests, laughs, and serious music
2015 We have lots of contests and tend to write fun and silly original compositions. We try to have a contest every month or so. Contest currently open include: The Musical Signature Contest ending Jan 15-create a composition based on your name, a sort of cryptogram, assigning notes to letters. It's fun, try it. New Year contest ending Jan 31- write a composition celebrating the new year just for fun. It can be serious or silly. Love Song contest ending in mid February- write an original love song. It can have lyrics if you want and can be serious or silly. March Madness contest ending April 1 appropriately- Anything goes for this contest, be creative and silly and wild and totally mad (in a nice way). Everyone welcome. We also have a Film Music contest ending April 30. That should be fun. Solo Instrument contest ending June 30- write an original composition for the instrument of your choice. It can be unaccompanied or with piano or orchestra if you like or, what the hey, it can be a duet or quartet or 50 harmonica band piece just so it focuses on one shining instrument. Now, we have a Halloween Music Contest ending Oct 31 of course and already have some great entries. So join in the fun. We also have a guess the melody contest in which you can try to name the composer and title of music from an arrangement we put together. And we have a Famous composer challenge in which you can match up the names of composers to brief descriptions about the composer. All in fun. Members are welcome to start their own contests or discussions in this group as well.
The administrator, Chinadoll, writes comments to every composition submitted to the group and tries to include encouragement and positive critical advice or suggestions. Anyone is welcome to join.

If you don't follow these rules, especially 5 and 6, I will consider kicking you, or banning you. And I don't wanna do that
The purpose of this group is to share music written for string orchestra or violin, viola, cello, double bass, and/or piano solos or ensembles with other people interested in this type of music.
The World Needs More Pit Arrangements! And this is the perfect place for them to go Only one rule for compositions/arrangements submitted to the group: The majority of the instruments used must be some kind of percussion instrument or other instrument commonly found in a percussion ensemble.
Here's the place for any big band music from the 1930's/1940's era, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, etc.. (PLEASE READ: This is not a group for sharing your works or arrangements, this group is intended to be used as a personal database, any unauthorized works shared on this group will be removed)
This group aims to become a place for discussions, help and advice around the contrabass. You are free to post every kind of playable piece here as long as you need a contrabass to play it.
This group is intended to expand the solo and duet percussion repertoire. You can upload any percussion pieces to this group as long as they only need one or two players to perform it. This includes mallet solos/duet, snare solos/etudes, multi-percussion solos, timpani solos, and many more. The more, the better. I'll also allow pieces that feature a percussion soloist (Ex: Bob Becker's Bye Bye Medley and Emmanuel Séjourné's Marimba Concerto).
The music here should mostly be original compositions and different arrangements of pieces for marimba. There may be the occasional vibe or xylo piece, but try to ignore those. (Just kidding we are accepting of all mallet instruments)
Feel free to share your arrangements, compositions, covers, whatever you want, as long as there's a mallet part in there somewhere it belongs here!
I have written a few compositions with the word "banana" in it. Banana refers to the fruit or to music that is bananas. This all started because the Downy Yellow Dingle Dork (.a famous bird who even was even in a musescore opera) loves bananas. Submit any composition with a fruity silky amusing funny theme or jwhat themheck, put anything in there because I may think it's funny. I laughed at Beethoven and Mahler (especially Mahler) so your may seem amusing also. I try to comment on every piece. hey, fuss at me if I forget and don't comment.
Hello! I'm lareinedeslapins, a handbell ringer/arranger/composer and overall handbell enthusiast! :)
I've noticed that handbells is only a very small corner of the music world. :( This makes me sad, since handbells are an absolutely beautiful instrument. So, here I am, trying to add to that corner and make the handbell community just a little bigger, as well as unite us together to share advice on ringing handbells, writing for handbells, or just life in general!
Feel free to post any scores or discussions related to handbells (or even not related to handbells - just please no spam or anything hateful)! If you have any good soundfonts, tips, favorite songs, upcoming concerts - anything - I'm sure that we would love to hear about it. :) Likewise, if you have any questions, I (and no doubt the others) would love to try to answer them.
We are all here to help each other grow as musicians, so please, no hating, fighting, or anything of that nature. I love you all, and it would be nice if you could all love each other, too. <3
Violinists from around the world can come to share their arrangements and assist others with their scores, as well as collaborate on ideas, such as movie melodies.
This group is meant for people interested in the banjo (5-strings, 4-strings, 6-strings, etc.). Please post scores that are either solo banjo pieces or have banjo specific parts.
