I've been playing it for 1 1/2 years
oops I was late again but whatever
Hello everyone; this is the first group and post for me. I began teaching myself music composition last October(2018). I've posted 4 pieces as of today- two are piano pieces: Nocturne 1 in F Major and Nocturne 2 in G Major, have listened to a bunch of others and now feel comfortable enough to ask for any and all comments from you folks here in 'Short Pieces For Piano' please.
Thank You All In Advance,
apparently, now all of a sudden, I can only get my music to play if it is the default soundfont. If I use another soundfont library such as the SChristian Collins 1.471, it just processes indefinitely when I press play. I do not see a solution to this. If I can only use the default soundfont in uploads, it makes no sense to upload anything anymore. So, unless I can fix this, I won't be posting any more. So it goes.
I just had this idea come to mind. What if I combine the Waltz and the Sonata? Here is my proposed form:
I call the piece that I am composing, Valse Quasi una Sonata, which translates to Waltz almost like a Sonata. As you can see from the image, I use the Dominant more as a bridge than a true Dominant. This is how I bridge to the Subdominant with the Dominant:
C major -> C minor chord(or the note Eb) -> Bb major
I have this bass pattern occurring throughout the piece:
Root, Chord, Chord
Often the 2 chords will be an inversion apart, but when the right hand gets into the bass clef, the chords are sometimes the same. The Root is usually at least a fifth down from the first chord, but particularly with the F major chord, I find that I can only do that when the melody goes up high. If it stays in the first octave, I have to have the first F major chord be in first inversion, a third up from the root. The hardest part I have found so far about composing this piece is having the rhythm of the Waltz and the form of the Sonata, while keeping the piece coherent.
So what do you think of my idea of combining the rhythm of the Waltz with the form of the Sonata?
I don't get on the forums much anymore, and this UI is garbage, but I could use a hand none-the-less.
I'm looking for someone who plays french horn specifically. Take a peek at this here arrangement:
I jammed it together from memory of playing it forever ago, snagging the main bits from ISMLP. Very often, my horn parts are the last to be arranged and usually get the worst hodge podge of voices. This is a great example of how not to write for any instrument in general, but it happens. This was in c minor, now it's in g minor, and the french horn is simply way to low.
I have a good sense of the comfort level for the other instruments as I play them, but I've done little more than fart around with horn. I'd greatly appreciate some cries of resentment and guidance on how it should be if you could.
Hello. I'm a new member of the group & a fairly inexperienced musescore user. I've been playing the trombone for 51 years & the euphonium & baritone for 42. @ 10 of those years professionally & 25 semi-professionally, & the rest just for fun. I've played in many groups of different styles, but my favorites have been big band, brass quintet, & symphony orchestra. I've also enjoyed tuba-euphonium ensembles & trombone ensembles. Merry TubaChristmas is one of my favorite annual events. Due to pain & wear and tear, I've recently had to put down my trombone - at least for a while. But I'm enjoying playing my new euphonium. I've been arranging for big band & brass ensembles for more than 20 years.
This may be the wrong place for this question... Is there a way to transpose & print the transposition? Thanks in advance.
Do you guys have a discord server??
Hello Trombone Players! I am from the Piano For Us Group! We (the group admins) are making an Ensemble for lots of players. We need 2 TROMBONE players! This is what is going to happen: The Group Admins will assign a song and then we will create a Musescore of it. Once we have done the Musescore score, we will assign the song to everybody! Then everybody has a choice either to video record yourself play or create an audio recording. If you do a video record, when we make our final video and we combine all of the audio, there will your video of you playing! You may wonder, how will we play all on the same beat? Answer: Everybody will have a metronome on and have a earbud in their ear and play along with the Metronome. Everybody will turn in their audio recording and me and Edward and Major and Minor will make the video, OR IF ANYBODY IS A VIDEO EDITOR!! and we MIGHT make a YouTube channel and start our awesome project! Remember if you do not want to be on camera, just audio record yourself! We are going to have so much fun! Please Join! The 2 PEOPLE THAT MESSAGE ME THROUGH MUSESCORE are in! Our Group :) https://musescore.com/groups/piano-for-us-ensemble
1. We're not looking for any specific skill level, you just need to have some experience.
2. We unfortunately can only take at most three players for each instrument, so we don't too many of the same one.
I think this should be a fairly fun project, and we're accepting volunteers now! Please reply to this discussion if you want to participate or if you have any questions. :)
Tbh im trying to be a big meme in my band and i was kinda craving some Power Ranger theme songs. Ive been trying to do ZEO and Dino Charge but ive been having so much trouble figuring out the notes. Plz sen halp.
I am pretty new to composing (only started 2-3 years ago) and I would like any critique, feedback, or suggestions, etc. for some of my original comps.
This would be greatly appreciated Thanks :)

Hello everyone! We were recently thinking about a collaboration we could do here, on Musescore. We were thinking we could gather a bunch of musicians who play instruments other than than piano (we'll also need one pianist) to perform a sort of group piece for a chamber ensemble. We'll also need someone who has a video editor that can combine multiple solo performances and make one group video. We are still thinking about what to do with the video. 1. We're not looking for any specific skill level, you just need to have some experience. 2. We unfortunately can only take at most three players for each instrument, so we don't too many of the same one. I think this should be a fairly fun project, and we're accepting volunteers now! Hello everyone! I have been on Musescore for one full year (time passes very fast) since November 2018 and would like to inform you of the following:
1. Take note that I have changed my username to Littlemusicbear so that those from my other accounts will have easier access to my original compositions. My previous username is Bearsim. I am unlikely to change my username for this few years.
2. I would like to thank all users for your continued support for the past year and hop to receive your comments on my scores in time to come.
3. If your do not know much about my compositions, here's your chance. I learn and play classical Piano (ABRSM syllabus) and that's all. My composing is self taught, a little based on music theory, and of course, there are many of you who compose better than me... Do give advice for me to improve my skills.
4. Below is the link to my first anniversary special, with this I end my notice.
I really really like Disney music in general. (don't judge even tho I'm a teen) XD. I also like Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots. I don't really have a favorite song tho....... Also, help. I've been bored lately and do y'all have any cheesy/corny jokes? LOL. Follow me on ROBLOX: smartypants0926. I haven't been active lately cause my dad blocked Roblox sooo. But my friend is helping me earn money on certain games while I am gone. CYAAAAA LATer!!!
