I’m Mitch and I’m new here. I’m not able to make scores because I’m using an iPad without a keyboard, but I want to be as active on the site as possible, like giving feedback and supporting anyone else. Hopefully soon I can hook it up to my family computer.
Favourite band- Pentatonix
Instruments I play - Clarinet and a little bit of piano
Favourite YouTube channels - DanTDM (I like Minecraft ok? 😂) and Superfruit
Hobbies/stuff I do - rugby league, music, drawing, writing
Speaking of writing, I want to write a story centering around a music competition but have no idea of what it should be about. Any ideas?
Thanks for reading!
My grandmother recently passed away and I composed an elegy dedicated to her. I would appreciate any type of feedback I can get on this composition.
I play the tenor sax and I'm trying to get my G# key to cooperate but it won't.. this is my first year of playing sax. So how do I do it? Thanks!
I previously wrote about the idea of messages a while ago and I think it would be good to see a change to it. On top of the fact the you can send messages to individual people, it would be good to be able to send messages to all your followers at once.
This would be for the purpose to receive feedback and decide how you want to move forward.
What groups here in MuseScore does violin/drums feedback? Still getting used to the website, hahaha
Hey, new guy here!
I don't really know where to ask for advice/criticism for a marching piece like this, and I thought that this was a good place as any to start.
Today marks the release of MuseScore Piano Roll. Piano Roll is a popular and convenient method to display piano notation in a way that not only simplifies learning a new piece for novice musicians who lack a teacher, it also beautifully visualizes each score.
(Video captured from https://musescore.com/classicman/scores/33715 )
Give it a try by simply clicking on the Piano Roll icon now available on all solo piano scores. Be sure to tell us what you think in Improving MuseScore.com!
All of these improvements are designed to not only make MuseScore.com the most valuable resource online for sharing and discovering great musical works but for learning them as well.
We hope you’ll be as excited about this new feature as we were to create it for you, and as always we look forward to your feedback.
This is just the first of an exciting series of updates and releases for MuseScore PianoRoll; we're already hard at work on improving the experience!
I'm transcribing this drum solo in 9/8, and 98 measures in the meter changes back to 4/4 for no reason.
Just share funny stories about you as a kid or about other kids you've seen doing dumb stuff
Hey guys! Thanks for being patient with us posting this!
Your challenge is simple! Create a theme that represents the beginning of spring!
Not too hard right? And please make sure the duration of your song is at least a minute.
We are so excited to see what you guys create!
Remember, what’s most important, is to have fun! Now go compose some music!
Also, an FYI, we are still excepting signups through tomorrow (Feb 28th). But we are no longer accepting signups when March starts. The challenge ends in exactly a month (March 27th).
We did not receive scores from everyone that signed up last month.
So this challenge, we are adding a new... feature, you could say.
Through March 3rd, you have the option of backing out of the challenge if you desire. Please don’t back out after this date, as it can be hard for me and John to contact you if you haven’t completed the score, and the challenge has ended. Thank you for your cooperation.
Now, go compose! I’m so excited to see what you guys create for this challenge.
Make sure remember the deadline! If you haven't sent in a score 3 days before the deadline, me or Jay will send you a private message reminding you. Remember, what we're looking for is a happy, bright kind of a feel in your score. May the best score win, and I am so excited to hear you guys! May the challenge begin!! Best of luck!
# OF DAY(S) LEFT: 17
18+? or normal
So here are the first 4
1.Would you rather lose a friend or lose a group of friends?
2.Would you rather be depressed for 5 days or be highly irritable for 5 days?
3.Would you rather play Minecraft or terraria?
4.Would you rather fail a test or fail a semester of items?
Any ideas? I'm sure we can try xD
This has been going for quite a while now. At first I thought it was my internet, but I'm beginning to think it's a problem with the site. Whenever I click 'play' on a score, it loads but never starts the piece.
Like be honest
your app-version of musescore is awesome. But there are two small features that are missing which would be such a huge user experience improvement:
1. Remembering the zoom level
Things like tempo and muting instruments are saved, but not the zoom level. It really sucks to zoom in a few times on every small practice session.
2. Prescrolling the notes
When all notes displayed are played, the next pages appears. But in that moment you don't know what to play, because you simply can't see it. You can't play a piece completely without interruptions. Just scroll a bit when you are half way trough the notes currently displayed or something like that.
If these two things get implemented, i'll be premium member for years... guaranteed! :)
Thanks for listening and keep up the great work.
So a YouTuber called Tantacrul just released a video called "Music Software & Interface Design: MuseScore" talking about various flaws and possible fixes to MuseScore. Perhaps this could be a good source of possible fixes and improvements.

I'm trying to transcribe a measure in Chopin's Op 64 No 1 Waltz. The timing for the piece is 3/4, however there is a measure that has 4 quarter notes in the right hand. I've been able to get MuseScore to show it by creating a custom tempo for that measure, but there is an invisiable rest, and I can't get the spacing right in the left hand.
See the link below for a picture.
Thank you your help!
At one point, MuseScore was talking about making a way to upload the piano roll directly to YouTube. Does anyone know if that has happened or how to do it if it has?
