Score download option "MusicXML" creates uncompressed xml file w. extension ".mxl"

I realized today that, when I download a file from another user and select Music XML as download option, I don't get the compressed file but the uncompressed XML, but the file still has the extension ".mxl".  The difference is obvious from the file size, too.
I remember that in the past, when using this download format, I got a compressed musicxml file which I could open without problems in MuseScore 2.3.2. The last time I did this was on Jan. 5 this year, so I'm not sure when this was actually changed.
Now, when I download using "MusicXML" option and I try to open the downloaded mxl  file in Musescore 2.3.2, I get an error message:
"Kann Datei  [my file name].mxl nicht lesen: ungeeignetes Format"
(Can't open [my file name].mxl: unsuitable format )
And the details say there was an error when reading Container.xml in line 1, column 1: unexpected end of file.

After I found out that I could see the xml when opening the downloaded file in Internet Explorer or text editor (which wasn't possible in the past), I tried and renamed the downloaded files' extensions from ".mxl" into ".xml", or ".musicxml",  and both could be opened.

I just wonder why this was changed, because the compressed xml is so much smaller. Wouldn't it be possible at least to offer both the compressed and the uncompressed version?
I posted this here because it seems to be a download issue on the website.

- Update: When I download an older score with the MusicXML option, I get the compressed xml. Does it make a difference when the file was stored online?

Is creationism a valid scientific theory?

I would say yes, it is.

The definition of a theory is:
" a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. "

I believe creationism fits this definition for a couple of reasons:
A) It explains the world we live in based on the authority of the bible
B) Its principles are based on beliefs that superseded even the scientific method. Therefore it is not made invalid simply because it has been though to be temporarily 'disproved' by the scientific community.
C) It forms a coherent and logical argument for the way this world works based on the axiom that the bible is a reliable source.

For those who would argue against my view, two possible places to start are:
I) Trying to undermine the authority of the bible, because without its authority the creationism theory is pointless. This is the most effective but also the hardest means of disproving the creationism theory.
II) Disproving the logic behind the creationism theory. This is slightly easier to do but less effective because it does not disprove the authority in which the logic is based on, meaning that a new logical explanation can be formed which fills the gaps in the old one.

I look forward to having a civil conversation with you all ;)

A Composition Exercise

Since this group is rather barren, I shall repose this (useful) thread from another group

I came across this thread about a composition exercise --->
https://musescore.com/groups/29328/discuss/5032409
and found it rather interesting and worth a try.

Basically...

Composition exercise by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski(1882-1937) given to his student.

It goes as follows:
16 bars divided into 4x4 bar segments
Tonic chord at the beginning
At bars 7/8 modulate to dominant(in major) or relative major(in minor)
In bars 9/10 write a sequence
In bars 11/12 write another sequence
In bars 13/14 thematic return should occur
In bar 16 coda
And at the bottom: "best subdominant, dominant and tonic, perfect cadence."

Do upload your scores should you try them out!

Count until a Pro user comments

Inspired the game over at MyAnimeList (http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1518596), let's count upwards and see how far we can go until a count breaker (listed below) comments and makes us start over.
(The title is kept for historical significance. Count breakers were Pro users with 200+ followers in Season 1)

Rules:
- A player may only post once every 24 hours** or after another player has posted, whichever comes first
- A post by a count breaker (listed below) restarts the count (that post is 0)
- The count must go up in order (no missing numbers)
- A counter who holds the last post of a run of at least 10 becomes a place holder
- A counter can only hold one place at a time. If they win a run that is higher than their record on the board, their record is updated; otherwise, the run is ignored and not placed.***
- Top 3 place holders become count breakers next season
- The season restarts every 12 pages
- A run is allowed to spill into the next season, up to a maximum of one page. The new count breakers start as soon as the count is broken or when the count reaches the second page, whichever comes first.*

* Introduced in Season 3
** Introduced in Season 6
*** Introduced in Season 7

As a courtesy, if your post is wrong because someone posted before you, edit your post instead of deleting it.

Pitch adjustments lost when exporting to .mid

Hi,

I would like to be able to adjust the pitch of certain notes in a MuseScore file in a way that survives the conversion to midi. So far I have been making the changes in the inspector pane, under note properties, and they haven't been making it into the midi files. I have discovered the export RPNs option in preferences, but even with that checked the pitch adjustments don't make it through. I am wondering whether there is some other way to make the adjustment within MuseScore that might be recognised as midi, or some other export option somewhere (I am using MS3). I'd be grateful for any pointers.
