Encore (Solo Clarinet)

Uploaded on Jan 23, 2018

Hi there, this work might seem very 'modern' and you might not like it for that reason. I would however desire some feedback!
This is a solo work for clarinet which uses the 'permutation' technique.

I find this interesting and complex, hard to play probably ...
This is great! Never really got into composing this way much, but this is a great result. Is there some m7/M2 in there as well? I didn't spot the tone row, so it could have been part of a transposition or other operation.
Thank you! I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean with "m7/M2" though.
Minor 7th or Major 2nd, you had listed the intervals from your principal set in the other comment. There is a minor 7th in the first measure, so the inversion set would have a Major 2nd.
It might be that I accidentally changed something, but the last time I checked it was all correct.
Sounds great to me. I love most of Ligeti's work, so this is actually pretty normal. It's great to see stuff like this on this forum.
A very nice piece! I like the rhythmic diversity. Could you tell us how you used the premutation technique in this piece?
The technique is that you have a few intervals (in my case 4) that you use throughout the piece. I used a minor second, a minor third, an augmented fourth and a major sixth (in dutch: Kleine secunde, kleine terst, overmatige kwart, grote sext)
Very interesting! And how did you manage the rhythm, or is that more intuitive?
Rhythm is indeed intuitive and a little polishing here and there ^_^
