Key Signature Help

Jul 7, 2018

In one of my scores I'm having trouble figuring out how to have all of the instruments have one single key signature: G Major. But the French Horns are in D Major, and the Trumpets are in A Major? How can I fix this?

Hit "concert pitch" at the top. This is cause that's how that specific instrument reads that music. A trombone's Bb is a trumpet's C, an alto sax's G, etc.
It's transposal (I think that's what it's called in English) instruments. Those kinds of instruments have another key even when you want them to have another. It's weird. Look it up. A solution is pressing a button next to the metronome which says: "Concert pitch". Voilá!
To clarify: you should have "Concert Pitch" enabled when *entering* the music, so you can enter the notes you want to *hear*.  But before *printing* the music, you need to turn Concert Pitch *off*, because if you want to *hear* a G for trumpet, you need to *writer* an A.  Thats just how trumepts are - they sound a whole step lower than written.  This is what MuseScore is handling for you.
Okay, thanks for all of your help!
