Thin Bari Tone on New Sax :(

So today, I just got my brand new bari :,). It was totally amazing but I found that the tone quality on the upper octave G to B sounded like they totally had an air leak. The sound just dipped in sound, and an audible leaky sound was coming though. I know there isn't really an issue with the rest of the bari but the notes sound so weak and undesirable. Any ways to fix this?
P.S: The octave mechanics seems to be fine, since the first octave closes shut when the other is activated and vice versa.

Assistance?

I have been playing alto for two years and everyone else in my section has at least two years on me. I'm trying to get better but I tend to be the only one that screws up. What should I do?

Starting MuseScore Saxophone Hub

Hi guys! I am MuseScore staff member and also a sax player. We've reviewed MuseScore saxophone groups, updated some of them and created couple of new ones, added some valuable saxophone content (scores, articles) and just "structuralized" everything abit. More info and links - in the "saxophone" group:
https://musescore.com/groups/saxophone

Check it out and participate! Let's build MuseScore saxophone community together!

P.S. Also, as you have probably noticed, we've launched the new "Community" page - see the link next to "browse" at the top of the screen, or simply go to:
https://musescore.com/community

Saxophone hub groups are easy to find and access: you will get the list of them (as well as the list of discussions) by selecting "Saxophone groups (hub)" from the "Topics" list on the left of the Community page.

Hi guys

I’m a new 5th grade saxophonist and I’m looking for tips to become the best player. I really love jazz and I’m thinking about changing from alto to tenor. Any thoughts? Anything can help.

Thanks

Contest #2!

We're having another contest!

RULES:
__________________________
1- Submit your best score to your group(s) that you are a part of.
2- Submit any score that YOU have written, whether it be concert band, orchestra, quartet, triplet, ect. ((Must include a saxophone, since this is the Saxophonists group!))
3- Your score has to be at least 25 seconds long (no limit to how long it can be)
4- If you are a member of multiple groups, select only one group to submit your music to please; we don't want 1 user winning all the groups' competitions
5- Do NOT vote on your own score, unless you have 0 votes (as of the last day to vote)
6- Please post only scores with playable parts (ask a member that plays the instrument that has the hard or impossible part, if you can't tell)—this goes for all instruments in your piece. I will be glad to look at your music to see if it is playable, and I'm sure several others would, too.
7- Enter ONLY music that you have written (no arrangements, or anything that isn't written by yourself). If anypony tries to win this competition by posting an arrangement under their own name, they will be banned from this group forevermore.
8- Post a reply to this discussion telling which composition you would like to vote on by whatever date we choose.
9--ALL WORKS MUST BE ORIGINAL PIECES WRITTEN BY OR CO. WRITTEN BY THE USER WHO ENTERS IT. NO ARRANGEMENTS. IF A USER WROTE THE LYRICS, WHILE ANOTHER WROTE THE MUSIC, THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED LEGAL, ACCORDING TO THE RULES OF THIS ORGANIZATION.
10-- ALL entries MUST BE RECEIVED by August 20th, 2012 & VOTED ON BY August 24th, 2012.

Spring Cleaning

Okay, summer cleaning. Anyway. I went through our list of music and removed songs which did not include some type of saxophone. If you'd like it back in here, just add a saxophone to it. If you feel your piece was wrongly removed (i.e. it had a saxophone, but was removed anyway), please just say so and it will be allowed back in. It probably means I misclicked and removed it.

Cheers!

Contest!

We'll be beginning our first contest now. The winner (which we will vote on as a group) will have his or her score submitted to The Master Composers group for competition with other groups. Here are the rules as outlined by BSBassClarinet:

1- Submit your best score to your group(s) that you are a part of.
2- Submit any score that YOU have written, whether it be concert band, orchestra, quartet, triplet, ect. (Must include at least a saxophone, preferably FEATURING a saxophone as a soloist or other important part).
6- Please post only scores with playable parts (ask a member that plays the instrument that has the hard or impossible part, if you can't tell)
7- Enter ONLY music that you have written (no arrangements, or anything that isn't written by yourself). If anyone tries to win this competition by posting an arrangement under their own name, they will be banned from this group (the Master Composers, not Saxophonists) forevermore.
8- Post a reply to a discussion on your instrument group telling which composition you would like to vote on by whatever date we choose.

Please post your score and vote by April 12, as that is the day I will be counting votes. Please post on this discussion which score (you must upload it to this group) you would like to enter in the competition. Please wait to vote until about April 10 or 11 so that we can give everyone time to post their scores. I will post a new discussion around April 10 for everyone to vote. I will announce the winner on April 12, and the winner will post his score to The Master Composers.

Sorry about the short notice. Good luck!
