The method is different to do it with or without MDL. It is easy to do with MDL, there is a MDL instrument called "MDL Rail", which contains cymbal. But you can add anything you want. Place the MDL Rail before your desired mallet instrument, then make MDL a small staff, then use the curly bracket to group them together. But, if you want to do it without MDL, then you need to add an Instrument Change to your mallet instrument staff. Right click on the Instrument Change and select Drum Set. When you enter notes, A3 is the larger cymbal, C#4 is the smaller cymbal, E3 is China cymbal, C6 is wind chimes. When you want to add a hand crash cymbal, you have to select the Cymbals in the Marching Percussion, C5 is hand crash cymbal.
