ROUND EIGHT RESULTS

Apr 8, 2017

Nicely done, everyone! I'd probably say that overall this was the best round so far. The six of you who entered this round will be the six who continue from now on. Well done on making the top six!

This round I decided to give you all a comment on your pieces as well, which I'll continue to do in the future if you like it. Here's the tally:

The Ancient Library, by BmMusic
Creativity: 23
Complexity: 19
Realism: 24
Effectiveness: 20
Total: 86
Comments: Good use of a unique chord progression. The melody was well represented in many ways across many instruments. The piece shows competent use of orchestration, especially in the string section. For full marks in Realism, label the impossible chords in the piece 'divisi'. Well done!

Cozy, by Teliul

Total: 86
Comments: Very neat melody swapping throughout, and clever use of countermelodies. Fantastic use of dynamics and articulation all throughout. For full marks in Realism, label the impossible chords in the piece 'divisi', and remember to put the score into concert pitch when exporting from MuseScore. Great job!
