Prelude for Spring

Hi there! This is a short little prelude (and I mean short), as my entry for Jay and John's Challenge.
Check them out here!

Anyway, a little story: I am working on a similar piece for piano and wind quintet called "Life Awakens", which was originally going to be my entry into the competition. However, I repeatedly got nowhere with it, and school got in the way, so now I'm unlikely to have time to finish it before the competition ends. So instead, I decided to create this, as a prelude of sorts to my original piece. I do still intend on finishing that at some point, but it won't be for awhile yet.

So, here you go: Prelude for Spring.

I don't actually expect to win with this, as I've seen some score already that are really good, and have a lot of effort put in. This was made in about 45 minutes this morning. Oh well. Winning once is enough. :D

Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoy this jolly little prelude. Happy Spring!

Ps. I think the dynamics on the audio are a bit broken. I'll do a custom audio with correct ones once I finish "Life Awakens".

Don't ask what inspired it, because I have no idea lol I was just playing around on the piano :D

but I'm thinking it would go in a cartoon of sorts ;)

An adventure begins for our protagonist! Indeed, it is a poor scarecrow that, one day, after months and years of waiting in his field, discovered his new power that makes him able to walk...or rather jump like a bunny.

The journey begins! Through the plains, the moutains, the forests and woods...
We could imagine different ends. A happy end, where the scarecrow will live freely for ever, or a sad end where he loose his foot and is stranded in a field, far from home, far from his friends...Then, let's imagine the next piece that could "sketch" those ideas.
Let's imagine!

Thank you guys for being more than 1300 on my profile! It means so much!! And...also, sorry for being late at celebrating it! ;)
I really really hope you will enjoy guys!! I can't wait to see your feedback!

Hello guys! :D

I've worked today on a dark orchestral piece which refers to the deep and bottomless natural cave shafts that exist in our planet.
It fascinates me very much, I was so inspired to compose a music!
Here are some names and links of different caves which contains a big chasm :
Krubera cave (the world's deepest cave) :

Velebita cave :

Vrtiglavica cave :

Miao Keng :

Ellison's cave :

The Youtube picture is from Indiana Jones 3 "Leap of Faith" scene ;)

I hope you'll enjoy! :D

...I composed for Jay's and John's challenge.
( )

Not my best attempt though, because I started out late (didn't notice that the challenge has started only after some time), while busy with my other WIPs... (honestly speaking I got lazy :p)

Anyways enjoy!

Yesterday (21 jan), I learnt that a music conservatory functions differently from a university music department, which inspired me to compose this art song...

Please feel free to feedback and critique my work! (whether it be the music or the lyrics!)

(i used the oboe sound for the soprano because i didn't like the voice audio)

This is a small piece for brass band featuring the well-known hymn tune "Llyod" by Cubbert Howard.
Our local brass band plays this tune a lot during warm-up so I decided to create a short opening piece out of it.

Bassoon, Piano
This is a piece I wrote for a Piano and Bassoon duet, inspired by the novel trilogy "His Dark Materials" by Phillip Pullman. My friend and I may do a live recording of this. If we do, I'll update the audio.

I intend to write three more movements, each one based on one of the books in the trilogy, while this one is inspired by the series as a whole.

Advice is welcome, constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks for listening!

Update 11/02/2019
I've changed the time signatures where necessary. I decided to put it in 6/8 rather than 3/4, because in 3/4 the notation looked strange.

For mobile users: better sound quality in this YouTube video:

This piece is not hard to play, so I can recommend it to (adult) players at an intermediate level. Do you think it's too complicated to play? I also made a EASY VERSION of the song.
Just see whatever is best for you.

Hopefully you enjoy playing this song.
Best wishes to you all!

Longing for the past - EASY VERSION

For mobile users: better sound quality in this YouTube video:

In the video you can hear the original version of the song (played and recorded by me). You can find the sheet music of the original version among my scores.
Do you think the original version is too hard to play? Then you can use this EASY VERSION of the song.
Just see whatever is best for you.

When you'd like to hear the easy version: I didn't make a different recording. So you can use the Musescore sound to hear the easy notes.

Hopefully you enjoy playing this song.
Best wishes to you all!

This is the first movement of a marching band show. A war breaks out between good and evil. The first movement is about a treacherous battle. There are great losses on both sides.

*This is my submission piece for the Competition's Group Competition No.2*
Link --->

Basically, this is my (creative) interpretation of the 1st movement of Vivaldi's 'Spring' as per competition rules. It is a set of 8 variations based on the first theme of the movement.
I've decided to compose for the Melodica ( ) as it is a rather underrated, yet novel and versatile instrument to deal with:) (I own one)

Feel free to comment, critique, or just ask about anything!
