Yellow Droplets

1 part2 pages01:43an hour ago20 views
Hey guys! I bring you a new piano solo made using the Steinway sf2 font.

It's called Yellow Droplets and is named after Purple Rain, from the legendary yet late Prince.

I think that's about everything I should say about this piece, except from the fact there's a modulation midway :D

This piece is dedicated to my grandpa, who played an enormous role in making me happy on MuseScore and who love my music and supports me. So hi grandpa :D

And as always, comments and faves are welcome!

So after an insanely stressful term in school, I've FINALLY found time to compose now that it's spring break :P

I literally hadn't had an extended composition session in over 2 months (though I've done a small amount of arranging). So as a result when I started writing this thing I literally couldn't stop...and made this piece in a 24 hour period (save for the first 4 bars - I wrote that 2 weeks ago :P)

If you manage to play this piece, just make a video of yourself playing and send me the link. I WILL feature you :D

ANYWAYS I also haven't done a follower special since 500...holy crap xD

But thanks so, so, so much for 800...821 now <3

A huge shoutout to the following people for being so supportive and amazing!

Also: after all this time, I felt like I should give another special shoutout - not to someone who supported me in my music - but someone who inspired me to start thinking about composing in my current style and has definitely had an influence on how I developed in composition. I found her profile about 2 weeks after I first joined this site, when she was Musescorer of the Month of April 2017, and loved her compositions immediately as they were the EXACT type of thing I wanted to write. Her music is so inspiring, and she was the first person I followed on this site. Although she might not even know I exist cause she went inactive over a year and half ago and we didn't interact much except for a few comments on her scores, after all this time she NEEDS a shoutout from me. Her username is TheNightreader, and here's a link to her profile:
She is an amazing person from what I've seen, and an amazing musician. You guys NEED to follow her :P

Hope you enjoy the piece! :D

And jeez I've been on musescore for 2 years now...holy ._.

This is the preview of my rhapsody, a very special piece:

1. This is my first Rhapsody
2. My largest composition ever (and probably forever, estimated 31:00)
3. As every rhapsody, it's made of 2 parts:
The first one is a sonata,
The second one is a ballade.

The first part (sonatina more than sonata) is almost full, lacks of another variation from the main theme after the unique opening.

The second one ( and the largest) is the ballade, I don't have time enough, but I show you the main theme, that will be developed, changed and contrasted, over 4 times for main theme and 3 for the contrast section form

The Ballade evolves (repetitive as a Sonata though) from a simple melody with disonances (entering as A, similar to B but not as equal), to main theme, that will mostly repeat over and over after the constrast with some changing. The worst (and most virtuosistic part) will came after the second contrast, where right hand will start to evolve to a more complex melody, that remembers me to Liszt's Mazeppa.

The last section before the coda, become even more hard, inspired by Rachamninoff prelude in C, then adding chromatism and dissonances that will lead to coda, which will return to the first part of Rhapsody, ending in the hardest part of the piece.

It took me a lot of time to compose. This piece is like a story of my life. I recorded this composition from my piano. Sorry for the poor recording quality.

Scherzo Pf .Concerto No 4 (wip1st Draft3/22)

Piccolo, Flute(2), Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet(2), Alto Saxophone, Bassoon(2), Baritone Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone(2), Tuba, Timpani, Percussion(13), Harp, Piano, Strings(5), Contrabass
I just started the scherzo . It will hopefully change the beginning interlocutions are not right so soon . It needs to feel like Saint-Saens if he had heard Jazz and had been born in LosAngeles and if I . of course had his geniality , witt and elegance .
I hope I can get my Antigone's Lament on Muse soon with a n aria from War and Piece or something if I can find a text about women during the American Civil War . Ambitious or crazy that everyday i start new works without finishing yesterday's and ever and ever more side ideas that i want to accomplish marrting rock&Rroll with real classical msic tendencies as well as jazz and rap (I know so little about rap and why does Eminem and MachineGun Kelly seem as fun/compelling as Public Enemy political critiques . It's funny when The Fall, The Birthday Party and JoyDivision and Siouxsie and The Banshees had rough music guitar shards people couldn't bear it but now that the world is almost at an end everybody can dance no matter how strained the voice or ugly the POPSONGS . Can't ya just hear Johnny Lydon from PIL and the SexPistols intoning over and over popSongs. Ppmusic really stays in the head far longer than even the most unforgettable music Mozart's overplayed d minor Fantasie never gets old and those cheerful , gorgeously shaped lines in the Mozart sonatas don't sound as full of Spring and hope as they did when I was younger . HEar this black rockband called GhostPoet and be born again to the death of all things in this welt ! ToiletSmoke is my band's name . Those sprites and light s on the surface of the water are called diatoms . Sneeze now !

Megalovania Piano Duet

I may have already created a Megalovania arrangement, but the song deserves so much more! I created a duet so that I could add more to the song and make it more awesome! I really hope you enjoy the duet and let me know what you think I should change.

For Solo Piano: Tango - Op. 39

1 part8 pages03:586 days ago260 views
When I was riding the usual train back home last Friday (15/03/2019), there was a beggar who came to a small group of children and started to tell them his whole life story, (probably to) exploit their innocence and kindness, as to squeeze out whatever candy money the kids would have had inside their jackets. The situation made me rather irritated. Finally, the beggar walked away after he had managed to get out whatever pocket money the children had to offer. The melody came to me all of a sudden, then, the rhythmic shaking and turnings of the train seemed to me like a tango. So, that is what I decided to write.

This is my first try at composing tango. I improvised on the strict and classical form of tango where there is a ternary form (ABA) and each section would last 8 or 8x2 bars. I added a C section (pun intended) as well as an introduction and a coda to bring it all together. So, I hope you enjoy and please leave a comment for me if you feel like (as usual, I always read all of them). :)

Kelvin Chan s Song 14

7 parts9 pages01:322 days ago16 views
Voice(2), Viola, Guitar, Bass, Piano, Percussion
It is the song that I have composed. It is definitely welcome to provide suggestions and advice to me. I will definitely read it one by one and reply, to ensure that I have read it.

It is acceptable if you would like to perform the song at the school or other non-commercial activities, with mentioning me (Kelvin Chan) as the composer. (Using it for commercial activities and composition contents are prohibited unless permission.

It is still drafting. If ok, you can suggest the title of the song or compose the lyrics. Thanks.
