Hey there! My latest arrangement of the finnish band Nightwish's piece "She Is My Sin" still has no percussion parts. Is there anyone who would like to add them/help me adding them???
Link to the arrangement: https://musescore.com/user/1782221/scores/3807386
original song can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSsTS6c8KOU
Thanks in advance!
Can someone give me an enlightenment on what happened today?
Today I logged in to MuseScore and found that my rendition of the said piece could not be displayed with the following cryptic message : "This score is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Hal Leonard".
For those who don't know about Hal Leonard, they are publishing simplified (= reduced in instrumentation and notes) sheets for popular music, including Elton John's songs.
I sent the following inquiry to the Musescore owner.
> Today I logged on to MuseScore and found that my rendition of the said piece could not be displayed with the following cryptic message :
> "This score is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Hal Leonard".
>I have no idea why they made such a "claim":
>do they have an exclusive right to the song that prevent us to transcribe it in any fashion?
> I will appreciate a your explanation on this.
Then I received the following reply.
> MuseScore received a copyright complaint from HAL Leonard concerning your uploaded score according to
> the DMCA law: http://musescore.com/legal/dmca
> If you do have permission from the original right holder to distribute your transcription,
> you can file a counter claim according to the stipulations in http://musescore.com/legal/dmca
>I hope this answers your question.

My question is, do they have the right to suppress any effort of transcribing by somebody else of the pieces they publish?
Okay, here's the deal. I've got 96 followers right now. That's getting close to a milestone.
Click on my name and then click the Follow button, and if there are 100 of you by the time I get up tomorrow morning, I'll post a special thank-you rock song for you all.
I am new to this group, and I wonder if there is a way to obtain reliable sheets for rocks.
The most, if not all, I have seen (on the market) are either reduced in the organisation, or still worse, with flaws.
So far, I have relied mainly on my ear to transcribe pieces, but I now feel exhausted.
