I am working up a short concert or Suite of mostly film and television music for a performance and the ape cave near Mount Saint Helens. This is for solo tuba.
I got permission from the head park ranger to play a short concert less than 15 minutes and during a time of day when there's not a lot of foot traffic, say early in the morning. After I get this entered into musescore I'll post it for you. After I perform and record it, I'll send a link.
This is a little piece that I composed recently. I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide some feedback, and also maybe a name for the piece (since I haven't found one that quite fits yet...). Thanks!
Anyways, I came up with this piece after listening to Philip Glass' String Quartet No 3 - Mishima, and the simplistic style that he wrote with. I also really liked his use of polyrhythms in that piece, so I decided to try to incorporate them in this one as well...
With so much great music available on Musescore.com, I thought it would be great to make a list of all of the public domain works available in the community that are on the state Prescribed Music Lists.
Also, any works on the PML that are not currently available on Musescore.com but are in the public domain, can be transcribed and shared here.
Here is a list of works on the PML for Texas that are public domain. Feel free to add to this list - https://docs.google.com/a/musescore.com/spreadsheets/d/1ci5xJ7wSOiJKsTHve06rDBk8eNpOPjPcR1yvPRtoFtg/edit?usp=sharing
Public domain scores can be found on IMSLP - http://imslp.org/
Welcome to the MuseScore Official Solo & Small Ensemble Group.
The purpose of this group is to not only share great sheet music, but for sharing knowledge, information and discussion about ANYTHING related to preparation for local, regional and state-level Solo & Small Ensemble festivals.
In addition to the general MuseScore Community Guidelines, there is only one other rule here - criticism is not only welcome, but encouraged, but keep in mind it is meant to help build each other up, not tear anyone down. Give advice how you'd wish to receive.
