After years of absence came up with sth new check it out!!
This is normally a song for guitar acoustic and electric on viola and cello. Though I can post the lyrics I don't know how to synchronise them with every note. Any ideas or suggestions for lyrics is welcome indeed. Thank you!
These words have 6 syllables in every line. Every other line rhymes. Try writing a song for this visit, by a mysterious stranger, to an inn. (In the middle of a storm)
You think up the title...
The wind howled, thunder roared,
And lightning smote the sky
Rain battered on the roof,
Charcoal clouds swirled on high
A dark figure trudged up
The rain and mud filled lane
His black cape was pulled tight
To try and stop the rain
A lantern shone ahead,
Swinging in the fierce storm
Towards this beacon went
The dark and rain soaked form
Shutters closed to the wind
Showed but a crack of light
To the door he did go
A shadow in the night
The keep heard the wind howl
As he opened the door
And inside, water ran
From cape onto the floor
Face hidden by his brim
His collar turned up high
He closed the tavern door
Against the winds harsh cry
A muddy trail he left
To a chair by the wall
He sat, back to the fire,
For warmth against the squall
From beneath his cape came
A gloved hand with some gold
He beckoned for hot stew
And a mug of ale cold
Reaching up, he undid
The clasps that held his cape
He threw it on a chair,
A black and formless shape
His hair was long and black
Though shadow hid his face
A steel sword turned to gold
By flick’ring fireplace
Silently, ate his stew
Then chased it down with ale
Outside the storm had turned
Into a north-east gale
He stood and donned his cape
And turned towards the door
Without a word he went,
Across the cold black moor.
how do you write interesting lyrics, how do you avoid cliches, how do you find and create interesting metaphores, how do you create something beautiful, how to change lyrics into which directions, what's your rhyme-dictionary, how to avoid the perfect rhyme?
These are the subject of Pat Pattison's books. Pat is to lyrics what a mechanic is to my car :)
Just as a teaser:
* lyric is a car
* car of lyric
* lyric's car
-> what images do these create for you, and how can you use them for your lyrics?
* lyric brings you to destination, lyrics move, lyrics entice
* / your turn :)
could smeone help me with the song
Something Rock Or Jazzy Or prefarably Both
(intro) Oh Baby,
Why did you have to lie?
I thought you loved me?
I thought i was the only one.
Have you ever?
Thought About me?
Have you ever?
Cared for me?
Oh, i know you never did.
You used me….
Oh..you hurt me…
Just because i am weak
OHH,while you loved her…
You told me…
I was the only one…
But you lied baby!
You betrayed me Baby!
Am i nothing to you…
Am i just someone that you used…
Am i just someone that you played…
I’ve let you devour me!!
Because Heaven Knows!!
I love you more than anything!!!!
I would die for you Oh!
I would even kill for you baby
I would do and give Anything for you
I know i’m an idiot To say this!!!
Come back to me…
You’re a Selfish Man
I’ll forgive all your mistakes
I can’t live without you.
I would rather die..
Loving someone else…
Oh BABY!!! You are my only one!! You are my Baby!! OH BABY!! You Are My MAN!!!!
I know i’m Stupid To think…
That you’ll change
Because you lied to me…
Because you used me…
BEcause you love Someone Else!!!!!
I should’ve moved on Especially.. From a man like you..
HELP ME PLEASE!!!
Help ME Out OF This Misery!!!!
All i want is this pain to be gone…
But he keeps hurting me…
He loves her now…
But he keeps telling me…
He still loves me…
I used the website sinsy to generate the vocals -
Any thoughts on this song are welcome. It is my first complete pop song.
This is part of a set of 10 pieces of folk music, which I have written this year and named the Sutherland Reels ( they are not all reels !). Do you think it could be developed as a song with the additions of lyrics and vocals ?
In the youtube version I am playing a Yamaha synth. Using sinsy I could generate a synthesized vocal and add it to that.
When MS first changed it's format, I was extremely upset. It was a very poor transition with LOTS and LOTS of errors. In the past six months they have cleaned up a lot of problems. They still have not addressed two major problems, as I see it.
1) When cruising the dashboard if you listen to a song, you must go back to the top of the dashboard again. I can go through 7 or 8 pages and then frustration sets in. MS should work towards their software remembering where you are in your dashboard. This would make it much easier to peruse titles.
2) I believe that favourites do not belong on a composers profile page. I would much rather have another 5 of my scores scores show up. This may just be me, but there are many reasons for giving a favourite. Since MS has no "Like" button, I use the Fav for that function. When a young composer has spent a lot of time and energy in trying to write a masterpiece I feel that a fav rewards them for their work. When I really, really like a song... I just download it and add it to my library.
I have looked at other sites, and I see advantages to MS. I will stay, I also intend to make this group larger and more active.
Thanks to all of you members for sticking to the group.
If anyone could help me write the lyrics to this song then I would be really grateful --> https://musescore.com/user/6683176/scores/3634696
syllables in each line:
',' = break in phrase
new line = new verse/chorus etc...
If anyone wants help with vocalizing the lyrics, i use an nice software called UTAU that can make computer generated songs, the voices are a little robotic because it's free, different from VOCALOID that's the best one and its expensive, but i want to use UTAU because actually i don't have vocaloid, So, if anyone wants help, talk to me :D
Mea culpa group members for being absent for so long. I am in the middle of trying to start a virtual tour business for realtors and my thoughts have been else ware. I beg your forgiveness. With that said, I have uploaded a song I composed back in 2013. It is Psalm 139 set to music. It's a simple 3/4 arrangement using a flute and cellos. I uploaded it under my s0crate6 account. Yep, I'm just a poor boy from a poor family, (borrowing a line from Bohemian Rhapsody), so I don't have a pro account yet. I have to make do with the 5 song max for non-pro accounts. Anyway, check it out and if you are so inclined to write a fuller and more complete arrangement, I'd be very grateful. In case anyone wants to look at the work I have been doing in the virtual tour field, you can check that out at https://roundme.com/@vvt/tours. Ciao!
Remember that Yvette piece I wrote a few days ago?
Well now I want to make a musical around it. Ok; let me back up, not really a musical per-say; but more of an audio-drama.
I've got a basic plot: Yvette gets jealous of Anne's (another girl from that Madeline series I told you about in the comments section) beauty and forms a clique in an attempt to make Anne look bad in the process; Little does she know that it is turning her ugly on the inside.
Well, why not? We had music in search of lyrics. Now we have lyrics in search of music. Below is a ballad I wrote a few years ago. Anyone want to have a go at composing some music for it? My problem is I write lyrics faster than I write music.
To view a PDF file of the anthology it came from and to see the accented syllables of the lyrics (Musescore discussion board doesn't support, bold characters), go to:
and open CaptiveThoughtsAnthology.pdf. Song is meditation No. 220 (Page 468)
The words are as follows:
220. CANDLELIGHT CONVERSION
In a cavern, dark and deep,
'Neath the earth, within a lair,
Burned a Candle soft and bright,
‘Midst the night that tarried there.
All about it, darkness crept,
Pressing in from all around.
Still this flame did carry on,
Beating back night’s ruthless hound.
Burning bright and shining true,
It gave light there to a waif,
Who sat near it crouched and cold.
From the darkness, kept him safe.
The Candle's flame did bob and weave,
Dipped and swayed and struggled on,
Ever faithful to the boy,
Whose light he did depend upon.
Gratitude and gratefulness,
From the lad for the light's aid,
Would be deemed appropriate,
But this thanks it wasn't paid.
But still the Candle shined its light,
Staying darkness close at hand,
For the Candle loved the boy.
Defending him in a brave stand.
Never did its faithfulness,
Waiver, wane in vigils long,
As its flame stabbed at the night,
In battles pitched, it remained strong.
For without its loyal light,
In this cold oppressive cave,
Dark would swallow up the boy,
Sweeping o'er him like a wave.
Then by fate, within the heart,
Of the youth who huddled there,
Came a spark of gracious light,
Lifting him up from despair.
By some force beyond himself,
The boy there sensed the Candle's love,
And saw its selfless sacrifice,
Dripping wax and spilling blood.
Through this bles-sed martyrdom,
To the boy there came a hope,
For he came to realize,
The Light's true redeeming scope.
Bowing down before the Flame
That shown forth its saving light,
The boy wept and worshiped there,
Before his Savior, with delight.
As he knelt on bended knees,
The Candle spoke with gentle voice,
“In you now I've placed My Light
So that in Me you can rejoice.
Go now, Child, throughout the world,
To caverns steeped in dark despair,
Shine My Light for all to see,
To those who now are huddled there
Full of joy and peace and love,
He traveled far to caverns deep.
Shining the Light placed in him.
There darkness from the boy did creep.

As it was with this here child,
So it is with ev’ryone,
For Adam's Fall did plunge us all,
Into a pit that has no sun.
No gentle rays of warming light,
To give us life and calm our fears,
The devil’s darkness in this place,
Has robbed men's souls and caused them tears.
But the Light of God's pure love,
Did pity men in earth's abyss,
Lost in deep, dark despondency,
Bound, tightly sealed with Satan's kiss.
To this darkened, fallen world,
Came of Candle of God's love.
Jesus Christ revealed the plan,
Of the Father up above.
Giving life and shedding blood,
God's Candle's wick and wax were spent.
Dripping down from Calv'ry's Cross,
As Christ melted, His flesh rent.
To those who hunger for the Light,
And see the error of their ways,
God shows them His great Truth and Light,
That burns by night and shines by day.
Come now you who live in fear,
And ignorance far from the Light.
Bow down before God's Candle now.
Proclaim Him Lord, receive your sight.
I wasn't serious about the last one ^-^
But if anyone could check out my scores because I have an awesome lack of music theory and I don't know if the notes are playable or whether the song is structured correctly.
If anyone knows then please visit >> https://musescore.com/user/6683176 <<
Richard has asked me to be a co-administrator of this group to help out in its upkeep. Being a poor, aspiring song writer and composer, I do not have a pro account and can only post up to 5 songs in 5 groups with my limited access. I have tried to post my songs to groups that have large memberships. That being said, you don't see any songs of mine posted here. To see all the songs I have posted to my 5 (soon to be 6) nonPro accounts, search for s0crate (with a zero) in the Search for sheet music text box. Hope you enjoy the lyrics. You can also view my songs and the anthology I have written at my public DropBox site.
Happy reading (and playing!)
Right everyone. Hosting a lyrics contest for my new song, whoever gives me the best lyrics for the sections I've put in will be put in the song. there will be a YouTube video explaining further.
The contest has officially begun! Who wants in?
To post a song to this page it must contain either:
1) Words written to matching notes within the score
2) Chants, such as Ahhs, Ohs etc written to notes within the score
3) Words written to a specific staff, within the score, that are meant to be spoken
4) Words that, (usually tell a story), that are written as system notes within the score
Any songs that do not have lyrics within the score itself can only be posted to a discussion.
Lyrics written in the description but not within the score do not qualify the song to be posted to this groups page.
This link is a song I would like to have improved. I am stuck. Do it, and if we agree, it's half yours.
